Ardent Steel Limited is a Subsidiary of M/s. Godavari Power and Ispat Limited, the flagship Company of Hira Group. It has its Registered Office in Delhi and Corporate Office in Raipur, Chhattisgarh with a Branch Office in Keonjhar in Orissa State.
The company has established a 0.6 Million Ton per Annum Iron Ore Pelletisation Plant in Village / PO Phuljhar, Block Banspal, Tehsil Telkoi, in Keonjhar District in Orissa. The operations of the plant started on 31/07/2010. This was a step towards value addition to the iron ore fines available in abundance at Gandhamardhan and Barbil. These fines, which were earlier considered waste products, have now found Industrial usage by Pelletisation. ASL complies with the environmental norms and the waste reduction, water saving and trying to maintain an ecological balance is the company's areas of prime focus.


Duties & Responsibilities: A) contract Labor Management: • Manage a range of labor relations &negotiations process for the purpose of ensuring compliance fulfillment of necessary formalities for engagement of contractors.

• Administers provisions of labor negotiated agreements for the purpose of maintaining a fair & positive relationship with unions and ensuring all compliance.


• Conducting contractor meeting (e.g. conferences, negotiations, and hearings) for the purpose of conveying and gathering information regarding a wide variety of subjects required to carry out their administrative responsibilities.

• Ensure periodic review and verification and maintenance of records of contractors for compliance.


• Communicates with other employee, departments to manage the labour for the purpose of providing information and assistance concerning labor employment, labor relations & negotiations procedures and related legal requirements.

• Responds to written & verbal inquiries from a variety of internal & external sources for the purpose of identifying the relevant issue and recommending or implementing a remediation plan.


• Monitoring labor welfare facilities as per company's rule and managing Contract Workmen & Contractors.

• Negotiating & amicably settling disputes with the Union/Employees and maintaining discipline.

• Security & in handling Disciplinary proceedings, Charge sheeting, conducting Domestic Enquiries, Conciliation, labour/industrial court transactions.

B) Time Office Administration:
• Ensures the maintaining & feeding of monthly leave and Attendance of all employees in the computer for the disbursement of salary.
• Checking of attendance registers, checking of leave card and posting of leave.
• Ensure proper Functioning of Time Office in matters of leave, attendance, and OD etc.

• Ensure availability of drinking water in plant.

• Implementation of gate passes system.

• Checking unauthorized entry of people in plant area.

C) MIS/ Personal Records:
• Keeping the detail records of employees' profile.
• Keeping and maintaining personal files & Updating of Personal records and personal files.
• Maintaining Manpower data base for the smooth operation of Plant.

D) O.D Initiatives: Ensures, identified and utilized the tools of Human Resources Management for the Organizational Development (O.D.) and to developed the ideas, beliefs, behaviours and attitude of the staffs to achieve a effective Organizational goal. Example-
• Strategic Planning - Taken initiatives in making the Strategic Planning & set an example in the Company to improve the establishment, to achieve long-term organizational goals and meet its objectives, and direction.
• Group Processes & Conflict Resolution -Ensures & developed a process for the interaction of Groups & individuals for better mutual understandings & to avoid the miscommunications & to resolute the conflictions to meet the Goal.
• Team Development - Developed a Team Spirit among all the Technical & Non- Technical Staff to face any sorts of challenge in the time of Crisis in the Plant and to increase cohesiveness/cooperation of people who work together.
• Organizational Assessments/Process Improvement -Ensures & developed a healthy & cordial relations with all the Staffs for better communication, to get the correct information for further action planning for improvement and performed all the process quiet effectively.
• Retreats - Ensure & improved working conditions in the Plant and to increased employee participation within the team to meet the Goal.
E) Disciplinary Matters: • Ensure a disciplined work environment and deal effectively with misconducts in employment.
• Duty includes taking care of the disciplinary act based on the company's standing order. This act would include issuing of charge sheet, consideration of explanation, Notice of inquiry, suspension with or without pay pending enquiry if needed.
• Determining the Management's strategy considering all relevant factors/representation, if any punitive action monitor and control absenteeism.
• Based on the company policies, ensure any discontent or dissatisfactions among the aspect (Employee Promotion, disciplinary action, Increments, Fines, Leave, recovery of dues, condition of work, etc) of the organization has been properly dealt with.
• Harmonious working environment in interacting with Unions, Union negotiations/Collective bargaining, long term settlements & monitoring the statutory compliances under various Labor Laws.
• In successfully handling labor unrest with interacting with Section Heads and Supervisors having
• Sound information network in the Plant.
F) Effective Communication: • Create trust and confidence in employees through effective communication channels and assist in image building initiatives through various participative forums.
• Maintaining and up keeping the Workmen Welfare Facilities as per company provisions for better working atmosphere at site.

• Maintain cordial industrial relations in the organization through initiating Settlement proceedings and enabling workers to voice their opinion on a common platform.
• Participative Management through pro active IR approach. & counseling of workmen to reduce unauthorized Absenteeism, Feedback regarding absenteeism and drafting and issue letters/ charge sheet.
G) Statutory Compliance: • Incorporating Changes/amendments in statute in System.
• Ensure maintenance of records and registers in proper manner and submission of statutory returns on time.
• Maintaining, reviewing and updating checklist for statutory compliances in respect of all labour.
• Handling disciplinary procedures including domestic enquiries and conciliation proceedings.
• Ensure conformance to statutory legislation and avoid their violation.
H) Grievance handling: • Ensure prompt resolution of employee grievances in regards to wage settlement / negotiations to maintain cordial management employee relations and achieve dedication by the workers.
• Handling the grievances coming from Workmen side as required for smooth running of the Plant Operation.

• Resolving the Grievances tactfully and implementing the timely effective redressal.


• Negotiations with unions or representatives of the workmen with regard to Charter of Demands, or other disputes that may arise and following up personnel policies, practices and formats.
• Conducting periodical meeting with unions for redressal of grievances for creating conducive environment in the organization.

• Establishing a culture of trust, faith, cooperation & Ensuring periodical meetings with Trade unions and giving feedback to management maintaining cordial employee relations in the company.
