Project 1:
Jordan School Expansion Project (JESP) - USAID
The school construction and expansion project, funded by USAID with approximately $9 million, encompasses 48 schools and kindergartens. This initiative involves both vertical and horizontal expansion, including renovation, demolition, and partitioning work. The improved facilities house classrooms, theaters, and laboratories, complemented by beautiful gardens and extensive landscape enhancements, contributing to a more conducive learning environment.
Project 2:
Environmental monitoring project at Al-Balqa’ Applied University
The project is a university building with a total value of $6 million. It covers an area of 3, 000 square meters and includes classrooms, laboratories, a stadium and other facilities. Additionally, the project features landscaping work and a dedicated parking area.
Roles:
• Project planning, which includes site investigation, feasibility studies, and budget estimation.
• Reviewing the architectural and structural drawings to ensure they meet safety and design standards.
• Ensuring the construction site complies with local regulations and obtains the necessary permits.
• Managing the construction activities day-to-day, including coordinating with subcontractors, scheduling work, and monitoring progress.
• Overseeing the quality of the construction work, ensuring it meets the specified standards and specifications.
• Enforcing safety protocols and standards to prevent accidents.
• Managing the project's budget, tracking expenses, and ensuring it stays within the allocated funds.
• Coordinating the procurement of construction materials and equipment.
• Creating and managing the project schedules, ensuring that work is completed on time.
• Maintaining detailed records and documents of the project activities, changes, and issues for crucial accountability and future reference
• Troubleshooting and resolving any issues or challenges that arise during construction.
• Communicating effectively with the project team, clients, and stakeholders.
• Checking and inspecting the quality to ensure that the work complies with industry standards.
• Addressing environmental concerns and sustainability aspects of construction.
• Conducting accurate material cost estimates and carefully ensuring that completed works align with specified standards, adhere to regulatory requirements, and comply with contractual provisions.
• Testing soil at various depths on sites and analyzing them to ascertain their strength, compressibility, and other aspects influencing the behavior of soil and rock under structural loads while establishing the safe load capacity for the soil.
• Providing weekly, monthly and semiyearly reports to the stakeholders as well as to my higher managers.
• Testing, assessing, and observing the construction materials in the site and the laboratory for making sure they are complying with the project’s standards and specifications.
• Supervising and organizing the renovation and maintenance works for existing buildings, like demolishing the construction elements, reconstructing new concrete elements in vertical and horizontal expansion, and repatriating the building by adding new rooms, halls, laboratories, and toilets; Repainting the walls, columns, and ceilings (concrete and false ceilings); reconstructing tiles, and replacing the existing furniture with a new one.
• Checking and superimposing the MEP system with the architectural and structural planes to make sure there is no conflict with the implemented routs.
• Assessing building techniques, materials, and quality criteria, as well as creating and deciphering specifications, sketches, blueprints, construction methodologies, and procedures
