Preparation, review & monitoring of various welding related documents like shop weld plan,
weld map, welding instructions, procedures, weld repair procedure.
* Maintain welder continuity record and skill matrix for each welder
* Responsible for Welder’s training, inspection before welding, during welding & after welding
* Visual inspection as per EN -970 & acceptance standard as per ISO 5817 class B
* Verification against documentation and markings of correctness of parent material
* Verification that dimensions fit up and weld preparation are in accordance with the
engineering drawings. Visual inspection and dimensional check of completed weld metal
against specification requirements and drawings.
* Surveillance during welding to verify compliance with specified procedure including any
preheat, inter pass temperature control and post heat requirements.
* Establishing that a procedure is available, has been approved as required by the appropriate
authority and is being employed in production.
* Witnessing the preparation of test piece and destructive tests, and verifying compliance with
appropriate standards and specifications.
* Verification that adequate and valid welder approvals are available and that only approved
welder as required are used in production.
* Identify, Analysis and take corrective action of welding related problems and keep the track on
record.
* Documentation maintains to fulfill for different international audit like ISO 9001, IRIS
(International Railway Industrial Standard), ISO 3834-2 & EN 15085 class I certification.
* Supervision and control of welding consumables.
* Welding process control as per approved WPS.
* In process surveillance and control for storage and handling of Welding Consumables. Welding
process development and production mock up trial.
* Preparation of welder qualification certificates.
* Welding equipment and accessories control.
* Responsible for HSE implementation & control for entire weld shop and functionally reporting
to Site.

* Coordinator for Work Place Organization (5s) for entire work shop, preparing weekly MIS,
preparing presentation regarding WPO.
* Quality Control activities for fabrication of pressure vessels. heat exchangers, crude storage
tanks & piping.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Inspection & Quality Control activities for pressure vessel, heat exchanger, piping, storage
Tank & structural work.
* Material Identification, clearance for fit up, fit up & dimensional check
* Visual inspection of welding joints, Inspection monitoring as per ITP.
* Inspection of structures for alignment, welding, torqueing.
* RT film interpretation, DPT, MPT &
