Head of Europe Operations - Senior Manager at Byblos Bank Europe SA/NV Brussels Head Office, London and Paris branches - Nov 2018 till present, handling the following tasks:
Manage the departments in Brussels Head Office, London, and Paris branches accounting for 30 employees (Department Heads, Deputy Head, Officers). Organize, control, and supervise all back office operations and their DD + KYT.
Control the execution of specific large value transactions related to Trade Finance, Transfers and Financial Market Back office Departments.
Implementation of the European regulations MIFID, DAC6, PSD2, SEPA, TARGET, Central Bank circulars, new reporting
Prepare the annual year plan including the business objectives, desired situation, strategy and annual budget. Submit quarterly performance reports.
Provide quarterly and yearly KPI’s covering main objectives and ensure full implementation and adherence to standards.
Review audit reports and make sure corrective measures are being taken.
Ensure the establishment and the maintenance of a robust internal control environment, control the continuous update of all operational procedures, and provide for corrective actions when operational or legal risks are encountered.
Ensure that Department and Branches’ staff complies with the KYC, KYT, transactional Due Diligence and Anti-Money Laundering measures.
Assess the Departments and branches’ staff training needs, set their annual objectives and evaluate annually the performance of the staff Regular monthly visits to London and Paris branches
Member of the ALCO, CRC, OPR committees and guest of the ManCo, and HR committees
Head of International Department - Operations Manager at Byblos Bank Europe SA - London branch from August 2017 till October 2018 date where I handled the following main responsibilities:
Managing a team of 6, in charge of Trade Finance, Transfers and Back office
Authorize all transactions on T24 and release its related swifts
Administrate all schedules, enquiries and prepare periodical report/statistics for BBE’s management.
Responsible of interviewing/recruiting candidates and monitoring their trainings.
Assess the staff training needs and set their annual objectives.

International Operations Counselor/Operations Compliance at the Group Operations Division of Byblos Bank SAL - Lebanon from March 2011 till July 2017, handling the following responsibilities:
Replace the Head of Operations in foreign entities
Regular visits to (8) subsidiaries/foreign branches to perform operations audit, and to assess workloads and performance in operations including:
- Proper implementation of procedures and norms
- Proper maintenance and usage of standard forms
- Gather training needs, and implementation of training norms
- Implementation and deployment of new products and projects
- Gather suggestions and discuss recurrent errors to improve processes
- Establish loading models (workloads v/s available resources)
Monitor, assess and release cross border operations transactions over Fircosoft
Assist TF in verifying clearance from a compliance perspective of ships, vessels, routes, and ports utilized and refer suspicious cases to compliance.
Deputy Head of Unit at the Trade Finance Department of Byblos Bank SAL - Lebanon from April 2007 till March 2011, handling the following tasks:
Manage, control and authorize processing of LC’s (10 employees).
Control and authorize amendments and drawings.
Authorize settlement transactions

Financial and Accounting Manager of SN.Com Algiers-Algeria from March 2007 till March 2008, (thru several yearly visits in addition to my work in Byblos Bank later on) where I managed a team of 8 employees handling the financial, accounting, reporting and tax transactions in addition to the establishment of an accounting department reporting to the management.
Trade Finance Officer in the Trade Finance Department of Bank of Beirut s.a.l. Beirut-Lebanon from, where I handled efficiently the following responsibilities:
o L/C and L/G issuance and amendments, Notifications and advising.
o Examination of Documents (Import, Export, and Foreign Entities)
o Accounting entries (sight, acceptance, advice of negotiations…)
o Preparing discrepancies letters to branches or banks.
o Preparing all types of Swifts.
o Following-up problems with customers and correspondents.
I began working in this company after my Bacc II graduation and during my university free time; I learned how to be a salesmen, and how to act in front of customers. I was also taught the basics of accounting and finance as a trainee.
It was a very interesting training.
I learned about every single department in the bank.Starting from the tellers to the manager office, passing by the RBO, the credit officer, l/c department...
My GPA was 3.20
School was something very special in my life, specially in my educationnal, it gave me a lot of knowledge to start and be efficient in life.
