I led nursing teams that set up patient care units and departments for the new hospital (2004) . This included interviewing and hiring managers, consultants, surgeons and staff. The work involved translating the vision of the Board of Directors and
navigating staff through the chaos and ambiguity of the start-up phase. We set up structures and processes, implemented
policies and organised the infrastructure to provide safe care. We also marketed the clinic to attract physicians and patients.
I developed alliances with Colleges of Nursing, the RCSI, colleges in the US and Poland and accepted student nurses / medical
students for clinical placements. We achieved Accreditation from An Bord Altranais 2005, from National Council for the
Professional Development of Nursing and Midwifery in 2006, from Joint Commission International in 2007 and again in 2010, from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2008 and the Best Managed Companies Award from Deloitte in 2008/2009.
