I have been working in NMC Royal Hospital DIP in Dubai, UAE since December 2014, as Head of Maternity and Child Health Service. I am neonatologist with PhD 30 years of clinical and research experience.
I was a Consultant Neonatologist and Head of NICU at University Clinical Centre of Serbia and a lecturer (Neonatology) at Belgrade University of School of Medicine before I joined NMC Royal Hospital in Dubai.
I have completed Yugoslav School of Ultrasound and different courses in ultrasonography and echocardiography in Serbia and UK.
My knowledge and practical skills in neonatology I was expanded through Visiting scholars in Greece, USA and Austria .
My areas of expertise include Neonatal Resuscitation and Neuroprotection, All aspects of neonatal invasive and non-invasive ventilation with lung protection, Haemodynamic assessment and support (including cranial, abdominal and lung ultrasound and neonatal echocardiography) critical ill newborn and Early diagnosis congenital anomalies, Management of extremely immature newborn infants, Patient Safety and Quality improvement. My mission is to improve the health and survival of newborns, especially those who are vulnerable and marginalized, through evidence-based practice, education, advocacy, and collaboration..
I won the ESPNIC Educational Grant at the 5th World Congress on Pediatric Intensive & Critical Care in Geneva Switzerland (2007).
I was a local coordinator for Serbia and Montenegro for the International Neonatal Immunotherapy Study-INIS. I have also participated in SIOP 93-01 Study, ITP Study and Twin Birth Study.
I have published more than 35 international publications in internationally indexed journals (more than 100 citations) and 5 chapters in various fields of neonatal medicine and have more than 30 presentations to my credit out of which more than 10 are in international conferences.
