Actively involved to support to USAID/DOE and GoP in implementing a sustainable, multi-stakeholder-based permanent national Integrated Energy Planning (IEP) capability to improve strategic and operational planning and policy making in the energy sector, expedite necessary investments, and help define an optimal development pathway and energy mix for the country, including viable indigenous and renewable energy resource use
Extensively participated in developing and maintaining EV model for conducting the fuel supply chain impact of electric vehicles in Pakistan. Provide support for conducting training sessions and online webinars to all the stakeholders. Develop and maintain databases for support of IEP process.
My other responsibilities also include advising, suggesting, monitoring and controlling of different trackers such as RFA tracker (Request for Assistance), RE tracker (Renewable Energy), and other support systems under various technical components along with to provide project management support for various tasks.
Providing technical advisory services related to system management and supporting the company in business process re-engineering to improve the performance and cost savings. Conducting quality management for new system development and implementation.
Recently involved in developing M&E System for Asian Development Bank's (ADB) technical assistance for Clean Energy Investment Program for installation of approximately 1, 000 community-operated micro hydro-power plants in rural off-grid areas of KPK; implement some 23, 000 decentralized solar photo-voltaic installations at public schools and health facilities in KPK and Punjab.
Overall management, monitoring and advisory services to implement an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system at the National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDCL) under USAID Energy Policy Program (EPP), which is a multi-year initiative to increase power generation, reduce transmission losses, increase cost recovery, introduce new technologies and facilitate GOP reforms with technical assistance.
My core responsibilities include advising, suggesting, monitoring and controlling the successful implementation to ERP project at NTDCL from concept to commissioning but not limited to prepare the concept paper, issue RFP, technical evaluation of vendor and solution, contract negotiations, monitoring and evaluation, capacity building and preparation of training plans.
Key project handled: Developed ‘Pakistan Energy Model’ (PEM) to forecast country’s overall energy requirement for the future years at variable GDP growth levels, crude oil price scenarios and other economic factors.
Project brief: PEM is capable of generation of separate forecast for electricity, gas, LPG, coal and petroleum products at a given GDP growth. Power module converts the electricity demand into fuels using the economic dispatch order and considering the future generation expansion plans for generating electricity. PEM calculates the projected energy import bill based on fuel imports with respect to indigenous energy productions and alternate fuel switching.
Actions taken:
- Responsible for updating, calibrating and enhancing Pakistan Energy Model.
- Familiar with other energy models like LEAP and MARKAL/TIMES.
- Conducted many economic, financial and other energy supply and demand studies for Asian Development Bank (ADB), The World Bank, Government of Pakistan and other multinational oil and gas firms.
Responsibilities:
- Carrying out requirement gathering/ analysis, high level and low-level designing of the project.
- Liaising with application development team members.
- Incorporating changes/modifications in the project as required; executing project status tracking & reporting, resource allocation and management.
Conducting process and system studies and coordinating with team members.
- Mapping business requirements and coordinating to develop and implement processes in line with pre-set guidelines.
- Analysing the data and providing the information that helps in overall growth of the organisation.
- Undertaking responsibilities of removing unnecessary procedures in processes; ensuring uniformity in the process understanding at the client’s and the organization’s end.
- Monitoring the overall functioning of processes, identifying improvement areas and implementing adequate measures to maximize customer satisfaction level.
Primarily responsible for planning, configuration and administration of local area network (LAN). Network consisted of Windows 2000, Windows NT, Novell Netware and Microsoft Exchange server. Supervise cabling work, configuring and installing the computer hardware and software. Also responsible to arrange and provide network support and help-desk to users, troubleshoot hardware and software conflicts. Conduct product/vendor assessment and procurement of all kind of IT equipment.
Responsible for overall automation of the company's administrative and functional systems. It includes the design, development and integration of the company's accounting system, payroll, timesheet/billing, project tracking, personnel information and fixed asset management system. Actively participated with the development team in the development of these systems and contributed towards writing code in Visual Basic.
Develop various database systems e.g. clients, contact and consultants database for international clients. Primary responsibilities include System Requirements and Analysis, System Architecture, System Development and Delivery and Client/Account Management.
Designed, developed and implemented the pagers billing system for the Digital Radio Paging department and customer information management system for the EPABX department. Responsible for data processing, generating customize reports and training of customers on different telecommunication equipment. As a part of the customer services department, actively involved in handling customers regarding contracts, payments and solving daily complaints. Also took part in managing engineers for solving the customer complaints and general office correspondence.
Ensure smooth operations of different training programs.
Responsible for designing and conducting different training programs, student registration and student affairs. Manage other office staff and set-up computer lab. Conduct special training programs for advanced users and organizations. Also responsible for in-house software development.
