I am offering my translation/interpretation services primarily to the public sector and business consulting firms. I am currently the key translation/interpretation contractor for a European Union funded administrative simplification project with the Lebanese Government. I also offer my translation services to a number of local translation agencies.
I have a B.A in translation studies (Lebanese University, 2004) and an M.A. in Quality Management (The University of Wollongong in Dubai -Australian University-, 2015).

Role Summary: translate documents and meetings that cover the whole spectrum of the MOI business functions (policing, civil defence, prisons, immigration, intelligence, human rights, child protection), and support functions (IT, Finance, HR...) under the Strategic Change Programme which aims to deliver customer focused, informed and proactive public services to the public
RESEARCH:
1- Report on international best practices in policing (cross summary of research documents)
2- Report on international best practices in language translation/interpreting to update MOI translation/interpretation practices
3- Produce Technical glossaries (with definitions) to capture and standardize MOI language
LANGUAGE TRANSLATION & INTERPRETATION
4- Deliver formal Interpreting services to support meetings with external agencies/bodies:
- Foreign delegation visits
- Auditing sessions (ETP)
- Tenders
5- Deliver Liaison/consecutive interpretation services to support internal workshops/ meetings under:
- The MOI Comprehensive Strategic Change Programme for the MOI functions (Police, Civil Defence, Prisons, Naturalization & Residency) and business functions (HR, ICT, finance…)
- The Northern Emirates Advisor's Team (NEAT) project to support Senior Police Officers in developing new and improved ways of Policing (the National Intelligence Model, Road Traffic policing, Crime investigation, Neighborhood Policing)

Strategic plans, power point presentations, reports, manuals of guidance, policies \[assuming full ownership of a string of documents\]
• Study the constitutions, statutes, laws, rulings and regulations of the State of Qatar and countries in which QNH owns properties (presently Egypt, Spain and France) to ensure adherence of the corporate office and QNH units to their updates.
• Review and familiarize with QNHC set of policies and procedures (finance, procurement, HR & audit policies) prior to carrying out activity assignments.
• Draft, review, amend, translate a wide range of contracts, memorandums, proxies, minutes of meetings, taking into considerations applicable laws as well as internal policies and procedures.
• Develop reports, analyze and compile date and prepare documents with respect to QNH activities and operations (assessment of investment opportunities, negotiation of management agreements, sale and purchase of properties, establishment of affiliate companies)
• Liaise with external lawyers and legal consultants regarding legal matters/cases concerning the corporate office and the units.
• Interface with corporate departments, units, external agencies, affiliate companies on all legal issues.
• Contributed to the translation of “Guinness World Records 2006” book into Arabic.
• Edited the last and before last pages in the newspapers falling under Life style section by: 1) choosing the most appealing yet informative news and photos among those set by different news agencies and main websites in Arabic, French and English, for the life style section 2) translating selected news items from French or English into Arabic, 3) editing the selected news items and undergoing the necessary research for fact checking purposes and additional relevant information, 4) finally, arranging the final selected items on the pages.
• Translated various types of documents mainly op-ed articles and also feature stories from international newspapers and magazines.
• Accompanied school students in their tour of the museum, explaining all scientific data that can be conveyed through displayed items, using different approaches, images and metaphors depending on the age of the students and the interaction taking place each time.
• Set standard, readily amendable, adaptable to different age groups scenarios for the introduction of scientific data in English, French and Arabic.
• Trained newly recruited guides by familiarizing them with items on display and most importantly introducing them to our philosophy in dealing with children: being at ease while passing the information with as most interaction with the child as possible; also introduced new items and the scientific data they carry along to the already existing team of guides.
