I am a Staff Nurse Initially Assigned in a Medical Ward where we take care patients with Problems in Internal Medicine, i was assigned there for 7 months and then reassigned at the Emergency Department for 17 months. Primary obligations of nurses is to Perform administrative duties including keeping file records about each patient, medical history, prescriptions, order and maintain supplies, keep inventory for medicine and medical equipments. Interview patients about their medical history. Monitor and report symptoms and changes in patient's condition. Write patient care plans. Perform radiographs, medical tests and collect samples to send them for further tests. Carry out medical treatment under doctor's supervision. Administer vaccines, injections, fluid therapy and first aid. Cleaning and sterilizing surgical instruments. Provide pre and post surgery assistance to all patients. Monitor the patient's vital signs and health condition after surgery. Inform families about the patients' conditions
Maintain a sterile environment in hospitals and emergency rooms
Respect hospital policies and rules and make ethical decisions based upon consent and confidentiality. Teach and coordinate new nurses. Instruct young people, individuals and groups about disease prevention, childbirth and other health related topics
Administer local, inhalation or intravenous anesthetics to patients
Assist patients during surgeries and maintain appropriate levels of anesthesia. Check the patient's medical history for any diseases or contraindications before administering the anesthesia. Establish and maintain interpersonal relationship.
