As a Biology and Chemistry Teacher for Grade 7 and Science Teacher for Grade 4 and 5 with the United Nations, I had the unique opportunity to work with students from diverse backgrounds, including Syrian refugees, in a fast-paced and dynamic educational setting. My role involved designing lesson plans that were tailored to meet the specific needs of my students, simplifying complex concepts and assessments to ensure accessibility for all. I created a student-centered learning environment that encouraged curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking, while also providing a sense of security and comfort for students who had been displaced from their homes. I worked closely with students who were struggling to understand the English language, using simple and practical approaches to help them build confidence and fluency. To support this, I adapted the curriculum to meet the minimum level of understanding of my students, recognizing that every student learns at their own pace. I was also responsible for conducting assessments and evaluations that were fair and accurate, while also providing constructive feedback to help students improve. Throughout my time with the United Nations, I was committed to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that valued diversity, promoted empathy, and supported the educational well-being of all students, regardless of their background or circumstances.
As a homeroom teacher at a professional daycare school, I have the privilege of shaping the minds of KG2 students and guiding them on their educational journey. My teaching philosophy is centered around creating a student-centered learning environment that fosters curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. I achieve this by incorporating hands-on activities, group projects, and real-life scenarios that make learning fun and engaging. My students are encouraged to explore, question, and discover concepts at their own pace, with minimal intervention from me. In my classroom, you'll find an atmosphere that is warm, welcoming, and filled with laughter and excitement. I believe that every child is unique and has their own strengths and weaknesses, and I strive to create a sense of belonging and inclusivity among all students. To ensure student engagement, I use various strategies such as storytelling, role-playing, and visual aids to make complex concepts more relatable and accessible. For example, when teaching math, I use real-life objects to demonstrate counting and basic arithmetic operations, while in English, we engage in role-playing activities to build vocabulary and communication skills. Protect Ed lessons are also delivered through interactive games and simulations that promote social-emotional learning and problem-solving skills. Through my teaching approach, I aim to inspire my students to develop a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom, and to become confident, curious, and compassionate individuals who are equipped to navigate the challenges of the 21st century.
As an English and Shadow Teacher at an Autism Learning Center, I have the rewarding experience of working with KG3 students on the autism spectrum, utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques to support their learning and development. I work with students across a range of abilities, from low to high levels of autism, and am skilled in creating tailored lesson plans to meet the unique needs of each child. My role involves delivering one-to-one instruction in English, using a combination of visual aids, props, and technology to facilitate learning and engagement. I also provide shadow support to students who require additional assistance with daily living skills, such as brushing their teeth, tying their shoes, and eating gently. One of my greatest challenges is managing severe tantrums and meltdowns, which I address through careful assessment, problem-solving, and implementation of calming strategies. In addition to these responsibilities, I work closely with students who have difficulties with speaking, listening, and writing, using ABA techniques to build their communication skills and confidence. My goal is to empower these students to become more independent and self-sufficient, and to develop a sense of pride and accomplishment in their abilities. By combining ABA techniques with positive reinforcement and patience, I strive to create a supportive and nurturing environment that fosters growth, learning, and joy for all my students.
I worked as a homeroom teacher for KG2, I handled several responsibilities, including classroom management, preparing weekly lesson plans and handmade activities, designing the classroom environment, fostering technology in education, doing language activities and oapplying the given material in different teaching methods( written auditory and visually).
stage in Amjad preschool as a homeroom teacher for 32 students for 3 months, we used to language activities, in a student-centered class and the evaluation of every student was taken both as individual and in group works. psychomotor, listening, writing and reading activities. For every covered theme there was a trip in the real world, to best clarify the given material in student's daily life. For example, they took about the farm animals, when they finished this theme, a trip was scheduled to the farm for them to see how farm animals look like in reality, and their products as well was brought to the class in which they ate farm animals products and they also dressed like farmers.
