- Hiring all management positions, completing performance evaluations regularly and developing short and long-term goals for each department manager (includes administrative, sales, parts).
- Planning and developing short and long-term goals and objectives monthly and annually.
- Effectively communicating with the comptroller/office manager on a weekly basis to review departmental forecasts and ensure consistency with annual projections.
- Paying close attention to daily operations, recommending and creating improved courses of action where necessary.
- Explaining the policies and procedures of the dealership to all employees and following up with employees to ensure that these issues are understood and followed.
-Overseeing the monthly financial statement to ensure it is complete and accurate.
- Coordinating with the business/administrative office to ensure that records and analyses are correctly maintained.
- Creating a good working relationship with lending institutions and manufacturer personnel and maintaining these relationships.
- Coordinating regular meetings with the managers of each department to ensure their profitability and efficiency.
- Overseeing the hiring and training of all department managers.
- Maintaining an enthusiastic attitude to build positive employee attitudes and morale.
- Overseeing and maintaining compensation plans for all employees.
- Creating cost-effective advertising programs and merchandising strategies for the dealership.
- Focusing on any customer complaints that department managers are unable to rectify and taking the necessary steps to resolve these complaints.
Manage and oversee daily business operations consistent with company policies and practices.
Deliver on defined business goals and objectives. Development and ongoing reporting/analysis of operational budget, including the monthly and quarterly reporting process.
Maintain an active awareness of cost management across the operations and assist in implementing mitigation strategies where necessary.
Achieve the long-term sustainability of the business by actively seeking, investigating and assessing growth opportunities that complement and add value to the operations.
Understand the market dynamics and leveraging company assets and resources to maximize ROI.
Review and implementation of systems that support the operations to deliver on goals and objectives
Establish and maintain a competent and motivated Management Team by providing guidance, coaching and support as required to assist the team to retain a strong focus on meeting the targets and objectives of the operations.
•Developing and building the sales team by encouraging mutual trust, respect and co-operation
•Purchasing of all used car stock via internal sales and outside sources
•Involved in marketing campaigns and strategies
•Responsible for residual values for all Volkswagen vehicles ensuring the brand is protected
•Developing objectives and strategies and actions to achieve them
•Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork
•Coaching and developing the sales team to improve their knowledge and skills
•Making decisions and problem solving by analyzing information and evaluating results to offer the best solution
•Scheduling work and activities for team members
•Resolving conflicts and negotiating with others, handling complaints, settling disputes and coming up with solutions
•Training of all sales consultants on producing a quality appraisal for valuation
•Responsible for chairing team meetings with the sales team evaluating valuation process and targets
•Involved in commission structure of sales team to ensure quality referrals
• Achieve and exceed the allocated sales target for pre-owned units, trade-ins, and accessories
• Good team player, experienced in a professional, high pressure, working environment
• Constantly improve and update knowledge of product range, features and benefits
• Maintain awareness of automotive industry, paying particular attention to new features, technical
developments, market trends, competitor analysis, selling techniques and customer handling skills
• Complete used car appraisals and quotes within set timeframe to increase efficiency and sales
• Follow-up with current and new customers via telephone enquiries and showroom walk-ins
• Ability to problem-solves and ultimately delivers sales results within set timeframes Requirements
