• Fully responsible for the compliance to product quality and SOPs and in line with customer demand, managing and supervision of production operations for ALEMIR including, training and qualification for teams, stock management and development of performance KPIs
• Maintaining, and ensuring compliance with, ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 22000 requirements and certifications, full participating in internal and 3rd party audits, facilitating and fully supporting customer quality audits on all facilities and ensures an action plan is in place and implemented on site
• Monitoring and controlling product quality by making sure that the produced products meet required levels of quality
• Conducting quality checks on random samples to ensure consistent quality is maintained across products over time
• Supervising and directing the shift team by ensuring that quality objectives set by the management are met and reviewed regularly, ensuring that the quality of the products meets ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 22000 Food Safety Management System Standards integration of the IMS (Industrial Management System)
• Analyses all incoming raw materials and ensures that they meet company and ISO requirements, leading a culture of continuous improvement that encourages efficient and effective production processes, performing vendor evaluation assessment before any business is conducted to ensure they meet Local Regulations and Conditions
• Promoting a culture of safety and its related reporting: Near-miss incident, Behavioral safety visits, and Anomaly hunting by Enforcing and controlling the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), guidelines, and operational instructions
• Ensuring that the plant is managed in compliance and SHEQ and all governmental regulations aligned with facility management (JAFZA authorities, local council, cylinder testing authorities etc) and Group specifications (IMS where appropriate)
• Investigation and keeping records of customer complaints related to product quality: Analyzing quality complaints through RCA for identification and mitigation of root causes, following up with the plant manager on the implementation of proposed solutions to ensure that actions are taken to avoid recurrent complaints and issues by implementing corrective action preventive action (CAPA) analysis and customer visits if required, Collecting and reporting customer claims (internal or external) and ensuring proper actions are in place and closed in time with relevant stakeholders
• Managing and responsible for all the Quality Laboratory activities and ensures laboratory equipment and analyzers are well-maintained and calibrated, quality control at all levels in production from incoming raw material to final products making sure that the final products meet required levels of quality (ensures compliance to ISO, BS EN 12021 and ISBT requirements)Ensuring that controls (delegation of authority) for spending and procurement are adhered and closely monitored vs. target budget
• Coordinating with the production team by ensuring that all operators are well trained and informed about quality standards and how to ensure high quality within production by coordinating and identifying required training, and planning future training according to individual qualification essential to perform reliable production (e.g. product sampling analysis)
• Review individual operator performance results and motivating each team member for quality achievement
• Provide all the required technical support to enable the Laboratory to function effectively, while adhering to correct procedures and health and safety guidelines
• Preparation of lab reagents for test purposes. Laboratory maintenance as required on an ongoing basis
• Coordination between the Process & Laboratory to Improve Product Quality
• Preparation of Summary Report for the Laboratory Analysis, Data Entry in LIMS
• Responsible for Calibration & Maintenance of Instruments, setting up, adjusting of lab equipment
• Updated quality records as per ISO 17025: 2017 and ISO 9001:2015 requirements
• Preparation of Control Charts, Checking Performance of Instruments by using Standards
• Hands on experience on tests related to Petroleum Products Analysis i.e. Viscometer, COC, Pensky-martens, Cloud and Pour point machine, TAN/TBN equipment, Sulphur analyzer etc
• Interpret test results, compare them to established specifications and control limits, and make recommendations on appropriateness of data for release.
• Recovery techniques i.e. Recovery of used Toluene etc.
• Testing of Petroleum Products
Testing of (Physical & Chemical) petroleum products as per International Standards like ASTM, UOP & IP. Testing & evaluation of all types of petroleum products like Naphtha, Kerosene, Gas Oil, Diesel & Fuel Oil for several tests like Freezing point, Density, Viscosity, Total Sulphur content, Water content analysis, Cloud point, Pour point, Atmospheric Distillation, Total Acid Number, Total Base Number, Initial boiling point (IBP), final boiling point (FBP), Karl Fischer titration, Density, Cetane and Octane number
• Analysis of Water Samples: testing of different types of water samples like Boiler Water, Desalination Water, Boiler Blow Down, Effluent Water, Raw Water for the required tests parameters
• utilized a wide variety of portable laboratory equipment including Centrifuge, Coulter Counter, Turbidity meter, Multi-parameter bench top meter, Total Organic Carbon Analyser, Portable fuel integrity test kit, Portable salt in crude content Analyser, Spectrophotometer
• Twin foam tester, Digital Density / Specific gravity meter, Hydrogen Sulphide test kit, Pocket colorimeter, Dissolved Oxygen test kits, Sulfite test kit, Soluble iron test kit, Fuel test kit, Drager kit, Microbiological water test kit, hygrometer, Refractometer, Turbidity Meter
• Fuel Quality Monitoring at all Retail Service Stations and Depots in Zimbabwe testing the quality of diesel, petrol (blend), jet fuel, LPG, ethanol, biodiesel and lubrication oil range at the ZERA main laboratory Headquarters in Harare Zimbabwe according to SOPs
• Coordinated, participated and led in mobile Fuel Quality Monitoring at all Retail Service Stations and Depots in Zimbabwe testing the quality of petroleum products
• Prepared laboratory reports and statistical data analysis. Reported to the Fuel Quality Technologist
• Preparing inventory of equipment, material and chemicals in the laboratory and responsible of ordering the deficient and lacking supplies, Organizes storage and distribution
• Receiving, examine, and recording the samples through an organized log-in process
• Organize proper storage and disposal of samples and waste according to local authority regulations
• Responsible for the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
• Maintain documentation, equipment, and work areas in a neat and orderly condition
• Supports organizational goals to meet operational excellence by supervising, training and support subordinates

• Warehouse management, warehouse inventory

• Assist with process design including,
development of mass and energy balances,
process flow diagrams, datasheets, design
criteria, control philosophy, functional
specification and operating costs and specific
client process engineering requests
• Sample collection, receiving and registering in
the inventory register
• Preparing the samples for analysis on the UV VIS
analyzer, GC, FT-IR and HPLC and conducting
trouble shooting of the instruments when
necessary
• Evaluation of quality throughout quality testing
processes such as in, raw materials and active
pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), packaging
constituents re-assays and retains
• Preparation of standards and reagents
necessary for analytical procedures
• Conducting and supervision of the inter-
laboratory quality control tests from ZINQAP,
and intra laboratory tests conducted between
laboratories
Preparing working standards for chemistry practical for high school students according to the manuals provided
•Conducting each practical exercise before the students come to ensure that the standards prepared produce reproducibility results
•Cleaning and maintaining the laboratory environment before and after students conduct the practical
•Calibration of the laboratory equipment as per standard operating procedures
•Supervision of the students during practical laboratory experiments
•Writing reports on the events of every practical session conducted
•Inventory taking of the chemicals and maintaining good storage
