I started my career as a trainee engineer in 2002 and currently working here as Head of VAS Operations.
I lead the VAS technical team in PTML which is one of the largest GSM operators in Pakistan; my job functions are given below:
Managing 24/7 Network Operations which includes systems from Acision, SMSC (messaging, charging), Huawei (charging, CRBT), Openmind (Antispam), Opencode (USSD gateway), MCtel (ADD/ADC), Unified (collect call, BGM) and other third party systems
Fault Management of VAS systems, maintaining SLA and KPI targets and ensuring service availability of 99.995%. Providing technical support to NOC (front office) team. Analysis and resolution of customer complaints.
Performance management and Generation and Analysis of KPI reports for performance and capacity issues
Configuration management of systems in a multi OS multi vendor VAS environment
Implementation of new promos and packages and service logic based on business requirements from VAS Marketing and Core Network Planning
Audit and Optimization taking preventive/corrective actions, using various tools and KPI statistics to ensure that system performs optimally
Project deployment Support includes User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Site survey and Pre/Post launch verification of new systems and services prior to deployment in live network
Training and Development of VAS team members. Providing technical training to new inductees and framing/measuring their annual performance objectives for annual appraisals
Change management and organization of work flows for operational and project activities
