Assisting the corporate Principal Health and Safety Officer with the planning,
promotion and assessment of the Authority’s corporate safe working procedures.
Advising supervisor and labor to Risk Assessment and developing safe working
procedures with managers to meet the risks identified by Risk Assessment.
Carrying out periodic safety inspections and audits of the authority’s premises,
construction site and other place of work, work activities and associated plant and
equipment.
Preparing written and verbal reports for the corporate principal health and safety
officer and directorate managers.
Recording and processing accident statistics.
Assisting directorate mangers with the organization and delivery of safety training
courses.
During initial response, document the hazard analysis process, hazard identification,
exposure assessment and controls.
Participate in planning meetings to identify any health and safety concerns inherent
in the operations daily work plan.
Review the Incident Action Plan for safety implications.
Exercise emergency authority to prevent or stop unsafe acts.
Investigate accidents that have occurred within incident areas.
Ensure preparation and implementation of Site Safety and Health Plan (SSHP)
Assign assistants and manage the incident safety organization.
Attending the Safety meeting and advising committee members.
Ability to priorities work and to work with the minimum of direct supervision.
Ability to the communicate the all levels both verbally and in writing.
Managing safety procedures at the site as per the ISO safety manual.
Maintain the HSE, Forms, formats, Register and safety records.
Site inspection and supervision of about labors.
Preparing the sign boards and banners regarding safety.
Conducting the tool box talk.
Safety officer ensure manpower to ensure there are no shortage.
Prepare the daily, weekly, monthly projects safety weekly progress meeting.
Assist with the development, implementation and execution and emergency
procedure.
Ability to work within a small team and be an active team member.
Ensure all the lifting equipment, tools and tackles are inspected and checked.
Ensure availability of First Aid Kits and Fire Extinguisher at all work place.
Conducting the safety induction to the new employee and on the spot to all site.

He communicates mandatory safety standards to all contractors during the pre-bid walkthrough stage and at pre-construction meetings, so there are no questions about the rules before the job even begins. He reviews each contractor's safety plan and monitors it for compliance.
• Construction safety officers conduct regular site inspections, recording all violations, noting what remediation needs to occur to keep the project moving forward safety.
• If necessary, the construction safety officer suspends the project, pending necessary changes.
