At Deloitte I helped with the development of multiple service offerings within the Regulatory Risk team. Initially, my job activities consisted of (1) understanding the implications of regulatory technology on the compliance domain, (2) developing a proof of concept for a compliance tool and (3) developing the Digital Ethics service offering of Regulatory Risk in the Netherlands. Currently I am part of the core team that is establishing a partnership between Deloitte and a major technology company. My job activities in this team consist of marketing the partnership and performing a market study.
I wrote my thesis for International Technology Law (LLM) at the Deloitte Privacy team. The thesis revolved around the GDPR requirements regarding explanations of automated decisions. In my thesis, I looked at decisions made by deep learning models and I assessed whether the explanations of these models are sufficient in light of the GDPR.
At Accenture Research I studied the latest developments and implications of technology on the professional services market. The performed research was then used by Accenture leadership to establish strategic priorities. In addition, I did my thesis about the motivation of employees and managers in an internal work marketplace within a professional consulting firm.
As a legal assistant I acted as general support to all the lawyers within the office. Activities consisted of doing legal research, administrative work and acting as help to the office manager.
As a sales representative I provided sales and investor information regarding holiday rentals on Beach Park Duynhille in Ouddorp. Hereby I acted as first point of contact and guided potential buyers in seeing these rentals. Additionally, I connected the interested parties with the developer.
Acted as math tutor for high school students.
International Technology Law considers how technology changes humanity’s relationship with the physical (including the social) world, and how law generates, facilitates or obstructs these changes. Thesis: The Compatibility of Explanation Methods in Deep Learning with the GDPR Right to an Explanation (9.0/10).
The specific focus of the Master’s in ICT in Business is on the alignment of ICT and management. The program builds on a solid foundation of computer science that students bring from their bachelor’s education, and expands this knowledge and augments it with concepts and methods from the field of management. Thesis: Understanding the Motivation of Employees and Managers in an Internal Work Marketplace within a Professional Consulting Firm (8.0/10).
Thesis: The impact of Smart Contracts on job related activities of a lawyer (8.0/10). Activities: Amsterdam Law Firm (moot court).
The Bachelor Lifestyle Informatics is a multidisciplinary study that combines the domains of artificial intelligence, psychology and the human body. Lifestyle Informatics teaches its students to develop tools and programs to make the lives of people more pleasant, safer and healthier. For example, students developed an intelligent living environment for elderly people; smart training programs for athletes or intelligent sensors and devices against stress.
