Working Student Regulatory Risk / Thesis Intern Privacy at Deloitte

At Deloitte I helped with the development of multiple service offerings within the Regulatory Risk team. Initially, my job activities consisted of (1) understanding the implications of regulatory technology on the compliance domain, (2) developing a proof of concept for a compliance tool and (3) developing the Digital Ethics service offering of Regulatory Risk in the Netherlands. Currently I am part of the core team that is establishing a partnership between Deloitte and a major technology company. My job activities in this team consist of marketing the partnership and performing a market study.

I wrote my thesis for International Technology Law (LLM) at the Deloitte Privacy team. The thesis revolved around the GDPR requirements regarding explanations of automated decisions. In my thesis, I looked at decisions made by deep learning models and I assessed whether the explanations of these models are sufficient in light of the GDPR.
