As a physiotherapist, i manage both outpatients and inpatient clients that require physiotherapy intervention.
I ensure the smooth running of the department of physiotherapy by ensuring that the equipment and facilities in good conditions
i run an outpatient antenatal clinics, where posture, exercise and education are delivered to pregnant women
Attend and make power points clinical presentations as a form of Continous professional development CPD
the inpatient department includes the intensive care unit, maternity ward and general wards, where chest physiotherapy, pain management, therapeutic exercises and rehabilitation are given to the patient until discharge.
Outpatient treatment and rehabilitation from neurological cases such as stroke, cerebral palsy, to orthopedic and musculoskeletal injuries such as cervical and lumbar spondylosis, post fracture rehabilitation., fitness and health promotion
As a physiotherapist I oversee, handle and manage both inpatient and outpatient clients in the hospital in terms of their treatment and rehabilitation.
I attend and also make clinical presentations in the hospital as part of my continous professional development.
the inpatient department include the intensive care unit, maternity ward and general wards where patients are in different state of health and well being so specifiically my management role ranges from chest physiotherapy(percussion, vibration, postural drainage, sunctioning, forced expiratory techniques, spirometry), to full range passive movement to the limbs, pain management using thermotherapy, TENS, Cryotherapy, walking reeducation using assitive devices such as walking frames, bilateral axillary crutches, walking stick, staircase climbing and descending till they are certified fit to go home.
THE OUT-PATIENT DEPARTMENT: It is my role as a physiotherapist to ensure a smooth running of the department, by ensuring the equipment and facilities are in good conditions, outpatient client are given quality physiotherapy services at a congenial atmosphere. post operative care, therapeutic exercises that rehabilitate clients that suffered neurological conditions such as cerebro-vascular accident CVA, cerebral palsy, injection palsy e.t.c to orthopedic referral such as post fracture treatment, work related musculoskeletal injuries such as low back pain, neck pain, osteoarthritis
