Marketing and Media Manager
LCC
Total years of experience :18 years, 5 Months
My career has involved diverse project management, being an information source, harmonising the needs of multi-organisation partnerships and working within and developing other networks. Building and maintaining excellent relationships with the media and a key range of partners has been key to the job.
I have managed European and Government grants and finance; commercial/retail and community development; Tourism; award winning transport projects and most recently as a Contracts Manager in the Public Sector. These roles have involved project management, contract management and a lot of PR and media work, with success in accessing EU and UK Govt. funds too.
I have promoted and stage-managed gigs, festivals, conferences, regional and local seminars, information days, tourism events and community events. I have been involved in every aspect of the logistical planning and delivering these events i.e. doing PR and marketing for the event, liaising with other agencies, fundraising and attracting sponsorship. Events have seen a year-on-year expansion and, as they have been reviewed, each event has responded to public feedback or looked at ways of widening participation e.g. thinking further ahead with strategies and action plans. In 2000 I was stage manager for BBC’s millennium celebrations “The Party in the Park”, the largest public festival of it’s kind.
