Fixed Income Trader - Senior Investment Executive - Ceylinco Life Colombo
• Trading in Government Securities to maximize gains on interest rate movements, subject to the policies and limits, pursing and meeting the capital gain targets set by the Investment Committee.
• Lending/borrowing money in the money market, ensuring adherence to investment guidelines, and optimizing gains.
• Maintaining the main fund of Ceylinco Life with high yield, high quality investments.
• Member of the Asset and Liability Management Committee. (ALM)
• Attends weekly Investment Committee meetings with the Board of Directors for decision making.
• Authorizing deals to the system and overlooking of confirmations.
• Preparation of the Dail y Market report to be circulated through the Ceylinco Network.
• Contributing towards research and anal yzing to maximize on the opportunities to gain edge over competitors.
• Adhering to internal controls and providing accurate information to the regulator.
CITI Bank N.A Colombo Treasury
Trading Desk -
• Preparation and management of the daily money market blotter and managing the liquidity of the bank. Assisting dealers in lending/borrowing money ensuring adherence to reserve requirement.
• Good understanding of the Citibank balance sheet structure and product composition and making reports that would assist higher level management decision making.
• Working knowledge on the product mechanistic of Forex quoting in the spot, forward and swap market.
• Understanding of direct/indirect quotes, forward premiums, implied money rates.
• Assist in the running of the AFS/Trading portfolio for fixed income securities and working knowledge on the basic fixed income concepts of coupon, yield, duration, yield/price relationship.
• Understanding of the methodology of limit optimization and tracking Market Risk Limits including Balance sheet gaps report cross currency funding limit.
• Given the opportunity to take positions on cross-currency movements backed by due diligence research.
• Daily input of various information to the Central bank system.
• Hands on Experience on trading systems such as Reuter systems, Bloomberg Systems and the aspect of dealing using these systems.
Corporate Sales Desk -
• Preparation of the Customer Repo sheet and ensuring timely/accurate booking of repos and adequate collateral allocation in the Citibank repo booking system.
• Supporting the Corporate Sales Desk b y quoting FX and FI rates for corporate clients and providing information.
• Responsible for the dail y dissemination of Rate Sheet, FX updates, Trading materials and other supplementary information to clients.
• Various other administrative functions for the team such as preparation of customer requests information, historical data.
