The QFC Regulatory Authority serves as the independent regulator of the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC), authorizing and regulating firms and individuals conducting financial services from the QFC.
In my role as Head of Operations I am accountable for the strategic development of the Operations department which aligns with the wider goals and objectives of the organization. The Ops team provides their services to the core of the business and all other internal stakeholders. One of my other key responsibilities is setting the annual Budget and Department expenditure. Subsequently being responsible for contract monitoring and management.

Key Achievements:
‒ Reduced operational expenditure by 30%.
‒ Development and implementation of data collection for provided services feeding into Dashboard report.
‒ Development Dashboard reporting to COO.
‒ Prepared & evaluated Request for Proposals (RFP).
‒ Optimized the office layout by redesigning the floorplan, allowing for a more spacious office floor and space efficiency with clear evacuation routes.
‒ Successfully projected planned and relocated 120 workstations with minimum disruption to the business, having no down time to business hours
‒ Successful completion fit-out, staying 30% within budget threshold
‒ Appointed Safety Officers for all floors, supported by accredited training for certified training.

Head of Operating Team - Msheireb Downtown Doha at Qatar Financial Centre Authority

End of 2016 the QFC announced that all QFC entities would be moving to the new Financial City in Msheireb Downtown Doha, being the world’s first sustainable downtown regeneration project with the highest concentration of LEED buildings in the world. During the project I was leading and managing all aspects of the relocation of the QFC entities (1. QFC Authority, 2. QFC Regulatory Authority, 3. Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre & 4. Qatar Finance and Business Academy).

High level responsibilities;

‒ Leading the Operating Team safeguarding that responsibilities and obligations are being met, whilst reporting to the Steering Committee, providing them with the required recommendations to set the strategic course of the project.
‒ Developing a project implementation plan, identifying key project milestones and required resources.
‒ Delivering on project milestones as approved by the Steering committee. Monitoring progress against project plan, providing regular, detailed reports on project related progress and risks to the Steering Committee.
‒ Recommending and maintaining all budgets allocated to the Project, keeping the Steering Committee apprised of the budget related forecasts and expenses.
‒ Responsible for the development of all procurement processes and documentation.
‒ Responsible for the development of all project related Agreements with Consultants and new Landlord.
‒ Ensuring proper coordination takes place with all internal and external stakeholders.
‒ Managing all project resources including Design Consultants, Legal Consultants and Project Management Consultants in order to facilitate the successful implementation of the Project.

Project Deliverables included;
‒ Shortlisting & recommendation for the commercial space within Msheireb of all 4 entities.
‒ Developing project brief, establishing end-user requirement
‒ Full design development for the new premises of all 4 entities. (Selected buildings all in Core & Shell finishes)
o Space planning
o Concept Design Development
o Schematic Design Development

Project specific:
‒ 3 buildings selected with an approximate total area of 16, 586 m².
‒ High end-user requirements, taking into consideration.
‒ Commercial Interior Design varying from LEED GOLD to GSAS 3 Star.

Senior Facilities Manager at Maintenance Management Group
