• Advise management on any specific threats to company personnel + family, assets & information and business operations/activities as they become known and apply effective crisis management strategies.
• Ensuring implementation of security policy and procedures and revising them where necessary.
• Assume general project management responsibilities of all aspects of the Clients security plan as contracted to KK Security
• Look at all aspects of operational procedures, carry out periodic security audits and make recommendations on required procedural and other security enhancements required to mitigate risk and improve security performance.
• Assess and implement operational procedures, strategic and administrative functions to support all aspects of KK Security business on the project as per general KK and specific industrial standards.
• Foster good relations with client management, KK employees, and local Government officials.
• Investigate and provide the client with a proactive and professional security overlay with security pre-determined and agreed guard posts and functions. In addition, to expand existing contract guard numbers and technical support services where possible.
• Co-ordination, supervision and advice to management on effective security management systems within the business.
• Ensure that threats to personnel, assets, and business operations/activities within the area are properly identified, evaluated and countered in a timely and cost effective manner.
• Secure Unilever Tea Tanzania personnel, properties and assets from internal and external security breaches as well as co-ordinate the activities of 3rd Party contractors.
• Overall responsibility for managing Safety activities to achieve excellence at the site level.
• Supply Chain teams to develop the local SHE Strategy and improvement plans in order to achieve sustainable SHE excellence by reducing injuries, illnesses and environmental impact as measured in the core KPIs.
• Where geographical proximity, size and complexity permit, this role may cover more than one site
Main Accountabilities
• Advise management on any specific threats to company personnel + family, assets & information and business operations/activities as they become known.
• Ensuring implementation of security policy and procedures and revising them where necessary.
• In conjunction with the Development Director, develop and implement security awareness programs or processes and to protect life, corporate assets and to ensure business continuity
• Devising and co-ordinating appropriate security training for security personnel & other nominated personnel
• Managing effective investigations on detected and reported breaches of security and security incidents.
• Provide briefings for the international staff/visitors on in country security issues on arrival and on the security situation in the country.
• Initiate and co-ordinate an immediate response to security incidents where there is a threat to Company employees and assets so as to ensure minimised loss or injury. If necessary, to respond personally to these threats
• Ensure safety and security of employees whilst on Company premises and in transit
• Liaise with and develop relationships with various Law Enforcement & Emergency Services in the event of a security incident/emergency (i.e. fire, medical, mechanical breakdown) and to ensure timely reaction to incidents
• Ensure availability of highly trained security personnel to implement contingency plans effectively
• Ensuring security reports are submitted on time.
• Deploy the global/cluster SHE strategy, policy and standards in the site to achieve excellent sustainable results
• Manage the Safety teams responsible to deliver, Safety driven results
• Drive safety risk assessment and develop/implement appropriate controls
• Lead the SHE Pillar in accordance with ManEx
• Develop a thorough understanding of the Unilever BBS Program and support deployment in the site
• Develop a thorough understanding of the Unilever PSM Program (if applicable to the site PS risks) and support deployment in the site and support the application of Unilever guidelines and procedures for Process Safety assessment (SIMAS)
• Monitor site legal compliance and ensure the site meets all local/national regulatory requirements and Unilever standards, provide advice on national Safety legislation requirements & implement relevant procedures and policies
• Assist the site leader to develop and lead the internal crisis committees and safety committee; support the site leader in leading serious incident investigation and analysis
• Advise line management in all accident/incident investigations
• Conduct trend analysis from incidents, near misses, safe behaviour observations and deep compliance audits
• Develop and deploy internal SHE auditing and inspection systems, participate in audits of other Unilever organisations as required
• Determine training needs and assist in delivery of training programs
• Lead, plan, organize and control the development and operation of the Security Department.
• Provide technical, commercial and strategic leadership for the Mine Security Department Team.
• Ensure safe, professional and cost effective operation, Security efficiency, in alignment with corporate objectives and practices.
• Continued risk assessments to comply with the Gold Security Standard.
• Technical assistance, fault finding, systems design, programming of CCTV, Access Control Systems and Intruder Detection Alarms Systems
• Part of Project Team for new Security System Installations
• Securing and ensuring safe transportation of high value product and cash
• Interact and participate with the Process Department, to ensure sustained development of a Safe and Healthy Work Environment on the Project Site and within the communities of contact.
• Coordinate and assist in the direction of activities of the Security Services Department.
• Ensure the necessary programs and reporting functions that will facilitate timely reporting of incidents are adhered to.
• Attend a daily briefing with the Security Services Manager.
• Ensure that all ABG Mine employees follow ABG Mine security procedures.
• Arrange shift patterns ensuring all security posts are manned 24 hours a day.
• Maintain the high standard of discipline expected from all Security Services members.
• Liaise with the Security Services MIG section to ensure that the Security Services Guards are kept informed of any events/ actions that may affect the security of the site.
• Liaise with other Security Services Personnel and senior Tanzanian staff.
• Ensure effective application of CCTV, and monitoring systems to reduce theft, identify procedural and Operation violations and health and safety issues. This application involves monitoring, detecting and analyzing anomalies and incident conditions in risk areas within the Mine Lease Area.
• Engage in observation, visual analysis, trend and pattern analysis, and visual investigations during this implementation.
• Ensure effective communication and guidance of Security Services responses under incident or emergency conditions.
• Ensure the security systems are serviced and functionality maintained(Dallmeier, Autech Babylon, Pelco, FLIR, AIRAYA, Centurion)
• Ensure the integrity of security systems are maintained
• CCTV Responsibilities/Reporting
• Responsible and accountable for ensuring that non- compliances with procedures are reported without delay.
• Responsible and accountable for maintaining, communicating and achieving all surveillance related reports.
• Report in writing on a weekly basis all incidents and or other non-compliances to the Security Manager and General Mine Manager.
• Reporting in writing all incidents and or other non-compliances of high priority to the Security Manager on a daily basis and to the Security Services Superintendents of any events/ actions that may affect their area of responsibility and security on site.
• Shall ensure that an updated surveillance manual is held within the surveillance room

• Assists with the implementation of the process plant security action plans within the security discipline.
• Assist with the monitoring and compliance by employees, contractors and visitors to the Gold security standard in all areas including the Refinery.
• Report in writing all instances of non-compliance to the Process Plant Security Superintendent, Security Manager and General Manager.
• Report in writing without delay non-compliance incidents classified as mayor breaches of security to the Process Plant Security Superintendent or the Security Manager.
• Assist with training and coaching of Security force members.
• Implement and improve current Fuel management systems on Buzwagi Mine.
• Inspect bulk storage areas and current dispensing systems.
• Provide pro active supervision re Fuel management systems and procedures.
• Manage all issuing and inspections of dispensing sheets, fuel requisition forms and data collection procedures.
• Ensure all data is correctly recorded doing cross checks
• Reconcile daily usage of fuel and lubrications.
• Submit reconciliation reports to the Security Operations Superintendent on a daily basis.
• Record all required data in the appropriate database and submit to the Buzwagi Fuel reconciliation coordinator daily.
• Communicate and ensure compliance of all fuel management procedures to management personnel and service truck operators.
• Communicate all irregularities and faulty equipment to the Buzwagi Fuel reconciliation Coordinator, Mobile maintenance Superintendent and Security Operations Superintendent.
• Comply with insurance requirements from the Buzwagi Fuel reconciliation coordinator.
• Manage and coordinate Fuel distribution according to Security Operations Superintendent’s Instructions.
• Be present in the field during field dispensing and fuel distribution to mobile and fixed equipment Supervise all fuel dispensing activities.
• General Armed Security Functions minimizing and mitigating the risk exposure of the company’s assets, product and equipment. Investigations and prosecution of criminal cases.
• General deployment of Security Officers.
• Patrol the Goldfields Mining areas on foot and per vehicle, reporting of all incidents i.e. Theft, Health and Safety Issues; Vandalism; Breach Codes etc. Liaison with Management and fellow colleagues. Reviewing of incidents on database. Shift supervisor of guards, Parade and posting, , Alarm reaction, Crime scene investigation, Access control, preventing theft of prime product, copper and other mine related equipment, opening of SAPS and GFPS Dockets, Observational tasks to eliminate criminal activities, submitting incident and hazard reports to management, Alcohol testing;

• Monitor and direct private security contract activities by: Liaising with suppliers on the security requirements of the business in line with the customer request.
