In my role as a SCM Analyst I am responsible for weekly software releases, in both validation and production environments. The SCM tool used on site is PTC Integrity and PTC Integrity Administrator. I use PTC Integrity on a daily basis for revision control for releases. All release code and documents are included in this process and are stored in the Integrity database. To prepare for releases I am responsible for opening change requests in Remedy which must be approved by both the CRB and ECCB. Responsibilities also include coordinating all required resources to support the releases, to include application owners, project managers, developers, Oracle DBAs, MQ Administrator and Unix WebSphere Administrator. I keep logs of all release related activities and I send out a standardized release report to all release participants on completion of the software deployment.
I am also responsible for maintaining all PTC Integrity servers in the staging, development, and production environments. Tasks include PTC Integrity server installs and upgrades, Agent installs and upgrades, server migrations and server integration, and monitoring.
My daily responsibilities also include user and group administration, to include creating user accounts and groups. I assign users to specified groups based on their roles, such as change manager, developer, tester, etc. I also create various contractor groups.
I served as supervisor for the CMS IT Service Desk and was responsible for overseeing all daily operations. I was responsible for a staff of 22 analysts. Our help desk supported over 20, 000 users and answered more than 40, 000 calls per month. To meet our service level agreement I participated in the design of help desk support processes. I was also the subject matter expert that all my analysts reported to with issues that required escalation. Issues included high level customers who required urgent service, dealing with upset customers, and technical issues that required my expertise. This often required problem assessment and troubleshooting. In my time on the help desk I earned a solid reputation for resolving complex issues and providing exceptional customer service.
As an Information Manager in the Air Force I maintained daily operations of LAN, applications, and systems for more than 200 end users across multiple locations for the Security Forces unit. I was responsible for creating/deleting user accounts in Active Directory. This included adding/deleting rights to various network resources. I was also responsible for creating user e-mail accounts, resource mailboxes, and distribution lists in MS Exchange. I performed upgrades to hardware, operating systems, and software with minimal downtime. Other responsibilities included troubleshooting and resolving system and network connectivity issues to ensure optimal performance. I was personally responsible for $100, 000 in computer equipment to include inventory and replacement.
I am currently enrolled at UMUC fulltime and have completed 59 credits. I plan to finish my degree by the end of the fall semester in 2016. Courses that I have taken tha apply to my job are XML and Java. I have also taken technical writing course which focused on writing proposals, executive memos, and analytical reports.
