1. Manage servers, including e-mail, print and backup servers and their associated operating systems and software. 2. Manage security solutions, including firewall, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems. 3. Manage all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, and UPSs. 4. Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices. 5. Ensure network connectivity of all workstations. 6. Administer all equipment, hardware and software upgrades. 7. Perform network design and capacity planning. 8. Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts. 9. Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services. 10. Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery. 11. Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information. 12. Establish service level agreements with end users. 13. Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights. 14. Perform server and security audits. 15. Perform system backups and recovery. 16. Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports. 17. Recommend, schedule, and perform network improvements, upgrades, and repairs. 19. Install and support telecommunications infrastructure and its associated software, including PBXs, call management systems, voice mail, interactive voice response, and video conferencing systems. 20. Configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user telecommunications hardware, telephony devices, and voice/data hardware products. 21. Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop problems for end-users, and recommend and implement corrective solutions, including off-site repair for remote users as needed. 22. Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user workstations and related hardware and software in order to deliver required desktop service levels.
