As the Engineer Projects, I assist the Resident Engineer in the following activities:
1. Contract administration, documentation and general management of the project pursuant to the Contract;
2. Co-ordination of the supervision of all roadworks, reviewing work programs, test requisition forms, daily inspection reports, preparing the RE’s daily diary and supervision checklist in reference with the Supervision and Contract Evaluation Manual for roadworks (2012);
3. Reviewing engineering designs for road construction as per the Road Design Manuals;
4. Reviewing quality control reports and test results to ensure conformance with the Special and Standard Specifications and relevant Design Manuals;
5. Analysis of the Contractor’s claims for time and costs as per the Conditions of Particular Application of Contract and the Conditions of Contract;
I was able to successfully complete my BSc. Civil Engineering after a 5 year period where I managed to get attached to a number of roads projects-forming part of my course work including: 1. Periodic maintenance of Nakuru-Njoro-Mau Narok-Narok (B18) Road for a period of 4 months 2. Performance Based Contract for the maintenance of Nakuru-Marigat (B17) Road for a period of 5 months
