- Prepares, maintains control, and responsible for subsidiary accounting records involving a variety of transactions and accounts.
- Reviews accounting documents to ensure accuracy of information and calculations and makes or directs correcting entries.
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
- Authorize signatory for cheque and other bank transactions.
- Monitor and follow up of Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payables.
- Perform general accounting functions, including operation of the general ledger system, journal entries, and month-end close work.
- Maintains the various ledger accounts including reconciliation of the general ledger, revenue accounts, expenditures, and cash balances.
- Responsible for payroll through WPS and reviews the tabulation, monitoring and distribution of payroll costs to appropriate general ledger accounts.
- Posts data to various ledgers, registers, journals and logs following established accounting techniques and procedures.
- Performs internal audits of accounts payable, payroll distribution, fixed assets, and cash. May make correcting journal entries in assigned areas.
- Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.
- Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses.
- Analyze financial information, call attention to trends, make recommendations, collect information and prepare reports.
- Prepares schedules for depreciation and amortization
- Analyzes the Branch cash flow, cost controls, and expenses to guide business leaders and submits same to superiors.
- Delivers regular reports about the aging of receivables and payables as well as cash-flow statements.
- Prepares financial reports, special analysis, and information reports including Profit and Loss
- Assists the Chief Financial Officer with preparation and consolidation of annual budget.
- Responsible for closing books at year end upon completion of annual audit.
Responsible for the following tasks:
*Checking of loan payments taken up by processors in the system vs. actual loan payments received by branches.
*Checking whether there are undertake-up, overtake-up and double take-up of loan payments.
*Accounting of loan payments that are still outstanding.
*Tracing the discrepancies between debit and credit transactions.
*Checking of batchsheet entry of processors.
*Balancing of post dated checks taken up by head office branch vs. application in CBS system
