Key Responsibilities:
Technical Documents & Drawings Preparation:
Facilitate procurement of fire alarms / fire detectors by preparing FACP and fire detector data sheets (with detailed technical / design specifications, ratings and dimensions), and ensure NFPA standards were met.
Formulate instrument data sheets giving all specifications and details of various measuring and control instruments used in fuel oil/gas systems (pressure and temperature gauges and transmitters, level gauges and transmitters, 3-way valves, flow meters, various switches including pressure, temperature, level and flow).
Prepare I/O list, logic diagram and loop and wiring diagram of fuel gas, fuel oil and cooling system.
Develop junction box (JB), control cable and cable connection and cable route diagrams to help expand the electrical circuits and connect additional electrical sockets.
Participate in designing WTP (Water Treatment Plant) instruments like hydrostatic pressure transmitters, flow-meters etc.
Prepare logic diagram (with appropriate logic gates, start/stop circuits), loop diagrams (showing connections between instruments and control systems), and wiring diagram (displaying all electrical wiring connections).
Operations:
Review and audit P&IDs (Piping &Instrumentation Diagrams) to verify the physical process flow, technical details, and adherence to safety norms.
Collate bids received from vendors and prepare TBE (Technical Bid Evaluation) document for instruments and control systems to finalize vendors.
Supervise FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) of control system to verify the system performs as per end user expectations and meets all functionality requirements.
Responsible for PLC system (Siemens S7-300) programming, and provide technical support to users.
Designated company representative during kick off meetings attended by client and project team members, discuss project plans and clarifications to ensure smooth implementation.
Plan and execute pre-commissioning and commissioning of unloading and forwarding section of the power plant.
Provide technical support for instrumentation and control system installation at site, resolve issues by identifying root cause and providing practical solutions.
Inspect arrangement of fire-detectors, loop diagrams and conduit layouts to verify these are as per the required standards and safety regulations.
Review vendor documents related to F&G systems including hook-up, loop calculation, panel layout, power distribution and panel wiring diagram
Provide technical support for installation of detectors and conduit
Estimate for F&G system by arranging detectors and panels for new projects
Key Responsibilities:
Deputed to the Olefin Plant-Ilam Petrochemical Complex, and ensured a seamless coordination between the instrumentation team and other departments.
Responsible for controlling and distributing technical documents amongst the instrumentation team comprising 11 engineers, resolved their queries.
Monitored project progress, prepared weekly project reports, notified managers of activities that could fall behind schedule to facilitate in time corrective actions.
Assigned daily tasks to the team as per work schedule and ensured timely completion meeting expected work standards.
Designed instrumentation and control systems of the project (DCS I/O list and logic diagram, JB wiring diagram).
Prepared the ESD logic diagram displaying the plant shutdown sequence and details input (that starts the shutdown) and output (which is the result of the shutdown); reviewed cause and effect diagrams.
Created instrument index at the start of the project and prepared instrument data sheets for pressure gauges, temperature gauges, level transmitters, pressure transmitters, level gauges, control valves, safety valves and rotameter.
Responsible for valve-sizing by computing flow rates, size of the pipe, duration of valve use, pressures to be withstood and other physical conditions that the valve operates in.
Assessed instrumentation requirements for mechanical equipment such as compressors and PSA units, analyzed instrument documents to verify specifications.
Developed and implemented macros in the system that helped the control and instrumentation team to improve their efficiency.
Prepared the Fire & Gas I/O list, and carried out vendor TBE for F&G detectors system.
Conducted a detailed SIL (Safety and Integrity Level) study in accordance with IEC-61508 (International Electromechanical Commission) standards.

Final Year Project: Identified “Cliques” and found a method to compare social networks using UCINET, AGNA and matlab. Analyzed data collected for changes in different social networks. Found a mathematical relationship that compared social networks based on key factors such as degree, centrality and statistical concepts. Developed, and proposed a new method to compare different social networks.
