Crucial to the safe generation, production and distribution of energy through the SaskPower Bulk Electric System, the SaskPower Provincial Physical Security Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safe and secure delivery of electrical energy to all consumers in the province. This is achieved through comprehensive Threat Risk Assessments of all SaskPower sites, analysis of all data and formal presentation of security remediation recommendations. The Physical Security Specialist is also an important team leader in all SaskPower capital construction projects, providing subject matter expertise tailored to each project’s needs and locations.
Responsible for the successful delivery of architectural drawings, contractor deliverables/management and all security aspects of multiple capital projects in the budgeted area of $1B.
Responsible for providing up to date and accurate security reports and recommendations to the SaskPower Executive Team and at times Provincial Cabinet Ministers.
Responsible for the administration and implementation of the North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection program (NERC-CIP).
A leader in delivering critical and comprehensive security to a Provincial Forensic Psychiatric hospital which houses federal and provincial inmate patients in a maximum-security facility. Ensuring the safety and security of staff, visitors and patients working and living within the facility. Responsible for all provincial security operations for BC Mental Health and Substance Use Services and associated clinical facilities located throughout the province.
Took over leadership of a Special Provincial Constable security team in a maximum-security environment. Through training and personnel upgrades elevated the team to a new national standard.
Lead a team of 40 Special Provincial Constables ensuring federal and provincial laws are adhered to.
