My duties include contributing to the ministry’s public outreach efforts, strategizing on public engagement, maintaining contacts with NGOs, and monitoring the media for coverage of relevant issues. I was formerly in the ministry’s international policy division, where I participated in various negotiations at international forums such as the recent United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development and the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee for Mercury. I was transferred to my current division due to exigencies of service. In my current division, I cultivate and maintain relationships with the external partners and stakeholders of the ministry, such as schools, NGOs, private companies and the other public agencies. I am also responsible for daily media reports summarising relevant news featured in print, television and online media.
My duties in this role were analysing and summarizing public submissions on proposed changes to dog access bylaws for further coding into pivot tables, and working on the reports and workshop materials required for the ongoing review of local dog access rules. This involves determining the specific requests contained in each submission, and matching like with like to enable easier grouping for summary and analysis. My duties included conducting research on various issues for the purpose of formulating policy, coordinating government-wide initiatives, monitoring local and international developments, and providing secretariat support to numerous committees.
