I take full responsibility for the contractor's commercial team on this large electricity maintenance framework. Ensuring that all commercial functions and processes are carried out effectively to maximise value and control costs. Specific duties include - carrying out all commercial reporting - weekly operating statements, monthly CVR's/P&L's, month end reporting; dealing with subcontract accounts from set up to final accounts. Dispute resolution with subcontractors and directly with the client; Tendering for large value schemes up to £1.5m in value. Managing the other members of the team - Trainee QS and commercial admin.

The contract moved onto a schedule of rates in August 2012 - many of the day to day functions have remained the same as below, however, the change in method of measurement on the contract has resulted in more analysis and reporting to ensure that the contract is commercially successful. I have also become responsible for the pricing and commercial management of larger value schemes that range from £15k to £150k in value.

Working on the same contract as below but employed by Enterprise as the new contractor on this scheme. Duties remain the same as below with additional responsibility due to the progression from AQS to QS. Responsible for the commercial function of two major subcontractors on the contract; managing the dispute resolution process on the contract (meetings with agents and negotiating with SP commercial staff to maximise value for the contract and keeping disputes to a minimum) . Other tasks such as: managing two Assistant Quantity Surveyors; producing reports when required (i.e. profit and loss, CVRs); managing the invoice process.

My duties included dealing with all aspects (set up through to final accounts) of large value subcontractors accounts including surfacing, traffic management, safety barrier, fencing, street lighting and traffic signs; involvement in identifying and issuing Early Warnings notices to the Client; investigating, pricing and agreeing Compensation Events. Dealing with all third party insurance issues; including notifications to insurance company, discussions and agreement and settlements. Providing support to the other members of the commercial team on the project as required. I was also given the responsibility of managing/mentoring a more junior member of the commercial team.
