The position was based in Portsmouth Naval Base, the main dockyard to support UK Royal Navy surface ships. Customer was UK ministry of Defence, (MOD). Joined as part of a team implementing long term purchasing agreements (LTPA) for the supply of materials and services required to support the upkeep and maintenance of UK Royal Navy.

•Analysis of material requirements and spend as a commodity/business
•Selection of suppliers to be invited to tender
•Preparation of all tender documents, assessment of bids/proposals, negotiations with suppliers
•Engaging with internal customers/stakeholders at all stages of the tender, including Royal Navy and MOD representatives when necessary
•Implementation of LTPA, supplier development, contract management and continuous improvement
