Deputed to Abu Dhabi Investment Council www.adcouncil.ae. Work in System Management and Desktop Support team.
Duties:

• Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with the standards and project/operational requirements.
• Installing, configuring and optimizing server operation system such as Windows server 2003 R2 and Windows Server 2008 R2 using HP Lights Out management console for HP Blade/DL servers and Vmware ESX console for virtual machines.
• Create, change and delete Active Directory user accounts, groups and maintain email quota per request.
• Configuring and maintaining Backup Server using Symantec Backup Exec 12.5 over Quantum Scalar i500 Tape Library. Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
• Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure /add new services as necessary.
• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, system and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
• Assist staff with installation, configuration and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software within established standards and guidelines and provide support using remote tools such as System Centre Configuration Manager 2007 (SCCM) and DameWare.
• Work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with server/desktop computing equipment and software
