• Operating Room Nurse - Preparing patients pre- operatively, assissting doctors in operationsincluding preparations of instruments needed and procedures either major or minor and recovering as well ready for transfers in the ward or intensive care unit
Receive patients and prepare them psychologically for the operation they're going through thus preoperatively, intraoperatively inside the theater and postoperatively recovery stage and transfers to the waard
Preparing patients checking identification name file number and the right site of operation wherein operation is to be done. Intra- operatively inside the theater again checking identification of patient transferring from bed to operating table and securing patient connecting to monitor from anesthesia side and the scrub side preparing all instruments to be needed and identify and verbally saying the name of the doctors anesthesia and doctors who will do the operation . After the operation transfer patient to recovery room allowing patient to be awake before going to ward monitoring vitals until stable and referring to anesthesiologist if ready for transfer.
Clinic work accomodating patients to be checked in such clinic I am in the orthopedic clinic preparing Xrays and patients file and preparing prescriptions or either preparing for operations including laboratory works and further Xrays to be made or repeatedly done.
As a general staff nurse admissions of patients giving injections and doing minor procedures such as dressings. Assisiting doctors in any operations whatever cases may come like intubating patients in asthma cases and giving medications as ordered and doing also delivery either caesarean section or normal.
In surgical ward, attending endorsements and assessing patients during rounds and preparing medicines for the shift and doing whatever laboratory works or xrays to be done and preparing patients for doctors rounds and carry out whatever orders made. In intensive care unit endorsements and carried out laboratory works to be done following up results and ensuring all intravenously medicines given properly and on time measuring intake and output and changing positions hourly for avoiding bedsores on bedridden patients.
