As maintenance supervisor I was responsible for the maintenance department in a 6th generation Jack-Up to ensure the maintenance service is provided (electric/electronic/mechanical) in an safety, effective and efficient manner following standard policies/procedures.
Maintain, troubleshoot and repair power generation, distribution equipment, and drilling system (NOV drilling package, Amphion system, Cyber base, Soft speed, ST100, ADS10T, Cat 3516C, etc).
Developed a work schedule for maintenance staff and supervised daily activities by determining workloads and schedules; developed, interpreted and implemented policies and procedures; evaluated staff and made hiring and termination recommendations; and ensured that staff were trained in complex maintenance activities and followed standard operating procedures.
Provided input into the development of the operating budget for the assigned area of responsibility; ordered materials and supplies and assisted in the monitoring and tracking of expenditures for the department.
Ensured that safety training was provided to staff and that proper safety practices were followed.
Coordinated activities with other responders; directed the work of staff and utilization of resources to effectively repair and ensure the safety of the crew.
Preventative maintenance / troubleshooting for DC and AC equipment (VFD, VSD), Driller Display System / PLC Siemens / Allen Bradley / GE Fanuc and Rockwell, NOV system, Drillink, Softspeed.
Preventive and corrective maintenance for drilling and subsea systems / dynamic positioning (Kongsberg SDP21 / Alstom ADP21 and Nautronix ASK5002 / SCHOTTEL) / anchor winches.
Maintenance in high voltage generators and switchgears / transistors / thyristor/ refrigeration plant and air conditioning systems.
Periodic maintenance according to the Rig Maintenance System (RMS/AMOS) guidelines and coordinate that maintenance with supervisor and other department heads.
Supervising electrical staff and coordinating the daily activities of the electrical department.
Scheduling work to be done for the day.
Providing guidance to junior staff in the areas of; leadership, continuous improvement, decision-making and conflict resolution.
Working with contractors to complete projects on time.
