1 : To Establish and Monitor the Service, Preventive Maintenance and Overhaul Schedules based upon Manufacturers guidelines for the Plant and Equipment.
2 : To Maintain a Proper Register ( Inventory ) of Plant and Equipment which contains all the Technical, Historical and Financial details.
3 : To Maintain Spare Parts Stores, properly manned, so as to ensure that proper stock levels of parts are maintained on past consumption and that prompt procurement of requirements is effected to guarantee the uninterrupted operations of Plant and Equipment.
4 : To Hire the services of Technicians of various trades and of various caliper and to extend appropriate training to them in order that their knowledge and skills are updated and improved to the standard expected to guarantee the proper maintenance and repair of the Plant and Equipment.
5 : Listing of Personnel ( Staff and Tradesmen ) with their trade description and allocation.
6 : To Maintain Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
7 : To Maintain a Computerized costing system by which all costs of Plant and Equipment are maintained and monitored.
8 : To Prepare on a daily and weekly basis a Broken Down Report and advice the Higher Management regarding the various defective Equipments, Machinery and Vehicles.
9 : To Prepare on a weekly and monthly basis a Fuel & Lubricants issues report and submitted to the Plant costing for estimating Fuel Consumption and Hiring Rates.
10 : To Maintain a Service schedule intervals for the maintenance of Plant and Machinery to avoid immediate eruption to production and to minimize the cost of repairs and down-time.
11 : To Co-ordinate with the Transport officer to ensure that the Equipment Operators/ Drivers are properly trained to operate the company’s fleet.
12 : To Define job descriptions for all positions within the Plant Department in order such positions are manned by personnel satisfying the job descriptions.
13 : To Evaluate suitability and availability of Plant and Equipment to be used in the company’s projects and to specify such Plant and Equipment.
14 : To Implement the Company’s Policy in all the fields under his control.
