JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Receives the request of patient and explains the nature of procedures to be done.
• Performs phlebotomy and sample collection such as nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swabbing for
RT-PCR procedures and serves as a resource for nurses and physicians.
• Verifies specimen and patient information, determines internal and external testing of specimen, and
enters data.
• Performs laboratory tests and chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic techniques using laboratory
equipment.
• Performs macroscopic and microscopic analysis of Urine, Stool, and other Body Fluids Samples
• Performs different hematologic determinations (Automated and Manual Microscopic Evaluation) and
coagulation tests, uses different techniques and/or equipment available for performing routine and
special tests (e.g., CBC and differential, platelet count, ESR, etc.)
• Performs Serological Tests, Routine and special Chemistry tests for blood and other body fluids
• Performs STAT immunological tests for tumor markers, thyroid function tests, Hepatitis Profile, and
other immunological procedures
• Performs Routine Smear and Staining, Culture of Bacteria, India Ink, and KOH
• Performs ABO Typing and Rh Typing, Coomb’s Test and Compatibility Testing
• Analyzing laboratory reports with highest level of accuracy
• Performs daily maintenance and quality control, and operates, calibrates, and conducts performance
checks on clinical laboratory equipment
• Collaborate seamlessly with Clinicians regarding unclear requests, critical results and patient’s possible
diagnosis.
• Records laboratory procedures done for the day both in patient and out patients.
• Performs new work as may be assigned by the Laboratory Head/Chief Medical Technologist
- Completed the Medical Laboratory Science Internship Program in accordance with the pertinent provisions of the Higher Education from November 2019 to May 2020 with a total of 1,416 hours
