• Plan and carryout system maintenance tasks, such as performing monitoring tasks, running system diagnostic and system optimization and ensure they are running effectively and enables easy and efficient use.
• Providing coordinated technical support for UNDSS, UNFAO, UNIOM and UNWHO partners staffs in region.
• Undertake monitoring and troubleshooting of IT systems to ensure a consistent delivery of IT services to staff.
• Implement and deployment of new technology.
• Receive and inspect all incoming assets and report discrepancies in IT materials inventory to senior colleagues to ensure materials are effectively tracked.
• Maintain technology, including standard repairs, configuration, and storage, in accordance with data security and access controls to ensure IT equipment required for WFP staff is available.
• Allocate tasks to other colleagues, ensuring that tasks are delivered to agreed SOPs and deadlines, to support the effective delivery of services.
• Respond to a variety of queries about technology and systems to assist WFP staff to deliver their services.
• In line with WFP standard and protocol install, upgrade, and support the radio communication systems including HF/VHF systems and Sat-phones.
• Assign and maintain database of call signs and mobile vehicle Selcalls, monitoring radio rooms and vehicles Telcom status in WFP operations.
• Disseminate the updated lists within WFP Ethiopia, and to the UN Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS).
• Perform other duties as required.
• Supporting four offices in Somali Region, Kebridehar, Gode, Dollo Ado and Dire Dawa sub offices.
• Manage, configure network devices such as Multi-Layer Switch (Cisco Catalyst 6500), Access Layer switchs, ASA (Cisco ASA 5500-X Series Firewalls), Hikvision video surveillance security system Cameras and Video Conference Infrastructure.
• Designing and implementing new network infrastructure in a new built building for Academic and Administrative staff.
• Creating and configuring, troubleshooting more than 250 VLANs on access layers switches and Core Switch.
• Perform day-to-day administration of the company's network infrastructure, network troubleshooting for local area and wide area networks (LAN/WAN), including Internet connectivity.
• Monitor and troubleshoot network performance and security issues.
• Train and provide troubleshooting procedures to Junior and network administrator member of staff for first-line network issues.
• Designing and implementing wireless architectures (Altai Super Wi-Fi APs and wireless Controllers). Configuring and manage Indoor and Outdoor Wi-Fi infrastructure (Altai Super Wi-Fi) and installing outdoor Wi-Fi tower for expansion of wireless internet in the campus. Managing and maintain wireless controller.
• Document all network topology and configuration changes.
• Providing advice on selection and purchase of network IT equipment.
• Provide day to day support for internal network/WAN infrastructure and connectivity requirements and Troubleshooting Network issues.
• Set up & Manage secure Virtual Private Network (site to site) between main campus and Harar Campus Health Science.
• Adding and configuring Hikvision video surveillance security system IP Cameras into the system and troubleshooting failed Bullet/Dome/PTZ cameras to function properly.
• Manage, retrieve, and maintain the health of Hikvision storage video server (NVR -Network Video Recorder).
• Installing, configuring, and administering Scala Enterprise Content Manager Server for Digital Signage networks in a campus.
• Managing and updating the contents of digital signage network around 15 indoor digital signage clients and 2 Outdoor Digital Screen.
