1. Carry out process material balances and heat balances.
2. Review technical requirements & specifications and ensure that project is reached on the basis of design. Participate in discussions with the other departments as necessary.
3. Active participation in internal HAZOP study & implementation of recommendation.
4. Development of P&IDs such includes Process P&ID, As built P&IDs, Demolition P&IDs for revamp project, Utility distribution P&ID, Hazardous area classification P&ID.
5. Monitor that work and progress are in compliance with the project requirements and schedule.
6. Timely completion of designs, requisitions and engineering deliverables.
7. Leading the entire Process Engineering activities to carry out process design work based on standard company procedure / other procedures, methods outlined.
8. Adherence to Dept./Discipline Working Instructions and Quality Systems.
9. Knowledge of principles of pump selection, calculation of pumps.
10. Preparation of data sheets for rotory & static equipment like HE, Pumps, pressure vessels, reactors etc.
11. Evaluation of Technical bids and recommendation of qualified vendors.
1. Provide information throughout the various proposal, engineering and construction phases to the proposal and project teams with regard to all aspects of Process Engineering.
2. Perform process simulations and develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFD’s) and Heat and Material Balances.
3. Develop sizing information for Process Equipment (compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, distillation columns, separators, reactors, etc.) and provide information in the form of equipment data sheets.
4. Assist in developing plant control philosophy & Hydraulic calculations.
5. Necessary calculations for pump NPSH requirements.
6. Logic diagrams and cause & effect charts for the facility.
7. Design and sizing of safety relief valves.
8. Flare system analysis and final reporting including the sizing of the relief valve inlet and outlet line sizing.
9. Assist in Plant start-up and performance testing, as required.
10. Operating Manual and Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning Plans.
11. Preparation of plant system and sub-system subdivision, identification and generation of marked-up P&ID’s.
1. Development of PFD from basic Process Description.
2. Piping & Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) in compliance with international as well as local codes and standards.
3. Preparation of As Built P&ID’s for Existing Plants & Utilities.
4. Preparation of Construction & Demolition P&IDs for Plant Revamping.
5. Preparation of Technical Data Sheets for Equipment’s.
6. Finalizing Equipment List, Utility Summary/Consumer List.
7. Line Sizing Calculations.
8. Give comments on static equipment general arrangement Drawing.
9. Provides conceptual design of Process Equipment systems.
10. Identify & Apply design and simulation tools for design, Optimization and troubleshooting processes. 11. Complete heat and material balance at different operating Conditions.
12. Performs equipment sizing calculations and develop spec’s for Estimating/Procurement.
13. Additional knowledge: Preparation of Bill of materials for revamping Work. Checking of civil drawing with respect to Foundation plan.
1. Monitoring progress on a day-to-day basis and with reference to the planned target schedule.
2. Supervising plant operations.
3. Man power handling as per requirement for the plant.
4. Experience with SCADA/DCS and gas compression PLC control.
5. Daily handling production documentations.
