Hobbies

  • Reading and Writing
I absolutely adore books, as they are portable vessels of endless knowledge and/or experiences. I also enjoy writing as well, from working on my novel, to writing short stories, vignettes, poetry, and technical writing such as biographies for individuals, and informative information for businesses.
  • Art/Painting/Sketching/Photography
In my free time, I enjoy creating original works of art with various mediums (via sketching, painting, pastels, charcoals, etc.). I have won several art contests, and also participated in the 2013 Emirates Skywards Future Artists Competition, and sold several commissioned pieces of art work as well. I am currently working on completing two collections for show in a local gallery.
  • Volunteering
I thoroughly enjoy getting involved within my community to help those in need. Currently I have volunteered for local community centers for various children's events, and volunteer my time to Walk Free, the Sierra Club, The Huntridge Foundation, Media Circus, and Race For the Cure for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
  • Violin
I was 1st Chair 1st violin for the LVHS Symphonic Orchestra, received "Most Outstanding Musician Award", also played in the pit orchestra for the musical "Carousel", and several independent quartets.
  • Gardening
Gardening in a desert climate can be quite the challenge - a challenge I am always willing to meet. Each year I have grown a successful fruit and vegetable garden, despite the excessively hot summer months we have here.
