Devin is currently functioning as the team lead for a team of four consultants on a reliability centered maintenance and tactics development project being completed for an Iron Ore Mining group in South Africa's Western Cape region. Devin is acting as the Reliability departments strategic, project and technical lead. He is engaged with senior management to effectively implement RCM procedures and strategies, drive defect elimination and establish maintenance planning and scheduling processes.
Devin worked as an asset management consultant on behalf of Gaussian engineering and PWC Arabia on a project for the Federal Electricity and Water Authority (FEWA) in the United Arab Emirates. Project work was completed up until the proof of concept phase, at which point, the corona virus put a stop to all project works. Uncertainty around the Covid-19 pandemic lead to the discontinuation of the project. Devin’s responsibilities (prior to project discontinuations) were as follows;
- Documentation and classification of all water production and distribution assets owned by FEWA
- Responsible for delivering the water production and distribution project phases
- Establishing resource and schedule estimates to inform project management decision making across all project phases
- Development of a proof of concept plan and conditioning of SAP data sets.
Devin worked as an asset management consultant on behalf of Gaussian Engineering and EY Arabia on a project completed for the Saudi Electricity company. Devin started work in Saudi Arabia as a technical engineering team leader and lead work activities on several power plants throughout Saudi Arabia. A distinctive talent for leadership and project management resulted in Devin taking on significantly more responsibility as the project progressed. By the end of the project, Devin’s responsibilities included (but where not limited to) the following;
-Project coordinator for electrical transmission project phase.
-Responsible for 65 employees across multiple provincial regions.
-Development and enforcement of work standards and related quality assurances.
-Primary point of contact for client engagement.
-Planning, scheduling and allocation of work packages.
-Liaison with senior project management in prioritisation of schedule and cost constraints.
-Training of consultants, team leaders and team members.
Devin worked at Performance Centre during the June/July university holidays. He was involved in technical work done on site as well as in the planning of inventory and work-flow management that supported new projects undertaken by the company.
Devin was commissioned by senior faculty and staff at the Cardiovascular Research Unit of the university of cape town for the design and manufacture of an electrospinning machine. The machine was intended to fabricate nano-fibre structures that would aid the research facility in the development of the vascular grafts and scaffolds. Responsibilities included the design, procurement, manufacturing and cost and schedule management.
