Management of electricity distribution projects from beginning to commissioning. Supervise, work & staff for the installation, testing & commissioning, operation & maintenance of the Power distribution equipments / system like transformers, air / gas/ vacuum /oil circuit breakers / ring main units / autoreclosures, load break switches / disconnect switches, power cables and overhead lines etc. for their successful operation & commissioning.
Other Key Responsibilities: - Material management, Monthly / Quarterly progress reports, Outage meetings, arrange technical training to new staff, Site visits & inspections, Study of schemes for Scope of works to awards contracts, Issuance of work orders, Verifications of billing quantities / Invoices, Closures of scheme, Safety observer at site, Updating construction, operation & maintenance manuals, Associated to prepare QA/QC process for Construction Section, Conduct Competency assessment for electrical staff, Technical & Commercial evaluation of tender documents, Control & Monitor of Consultant Team of 29 Staff for day to supervision of site activities of about 20 Contracts in Construction Section, Review & action on site reports, Review KPI of contractors, Arranging & conducting Top Management Meeting of Contractors to review progress details, Coordination with internal departments/ section in organization as well as externals like Road Department (ASGHAL), Qatar Petroleum, Urban Planning & Development Authority, Municipalities etc on different projects / issues.
Responsible for installation of 66 & 33 KV Grid Substation & cables works. Also, supervision of about 400 staff, 45 Engineers, 4 Mangers, & about 1500 distribution substations & associated networks to cater the electricity demand of about 125000 customers of different categories to manage their daily technical & commercial activities.
Construction, operation & maintenance of electricity distribution assets & system in distribution department under the Directorate of Electricity Network Affairs. Management of electricity distribution projects & other associated works from beginning to until commissioning.
Completed various capital projects related to Doha Asian Games -2006, Doha International Airports, Doha Port & Hamad Medical City / Hospital, Doha Super Highways etc.
Project Department
•Installation / erection / commissioning of 66 /11 KV and 33 /11 KV Grid Sub-Station.
•Erection, testing & commissioning of Shunt Capacitor Banks at 66, 33, 11 KV level ( 20, 10, 5 MVAR ratings)
• Handling and laying of 66 KV & 33 KV underground cables including jointing, testing & Commissioning.
•Inspections of Power Transformers (66/11KV, 33/11KV) & Shunt Capacitor Banks etc at manufacturers place.
•Played a Lead Role in projects management includes plan / schedule all construction activities.
Transmission Department
•Construction / Maintenance and operation of Electrical Equipment’s like Power Transformers of 220/66/11 KV, 220/33/11 KV S/S.
•Preparations of Tender Documents, Evaluation of Bids, Negotiation with contractors and placement of work orders as in-charge of Junior Works Committee.
Testing & Commissioning Department
Pre-Commissioning tests on Power TX’s, Switchgear, Measuring transformers, Power cables, Bus-bars, DC/AC/Control Ckt.
Instrument Tx`s.- Polarity tests, Ratio test, Primary & Secondary Injection, Insulation Resistance Test, Magnetizing curve / Knee Voltage test etc.
Protective Relays: - Performance test like Pick up / closing current on rated tap, Operating Time at TMS 1.0, Service Setting Time for different O/C & E/F relays as well as % biased differential relays of Alstom / Rye-roll / ABB makes etc.
Distribution Department
•Responsible for operation / maintenance & construction work of 11/.4 KV distribution system & assets for the electricity supply of more than 25, 000 consumers of different categories.
•Responsible for conducting Engineering studies time to time for distribution system like Load and Energy forecasting, Planning, design and operation methodology, optimization of distribution system, system reliability, consumer services, grounding, system over voltages / low voltages, rural supply, system maintenance and electrical services for buildings.
