• Implementing policies, standards, processes and systematic methods to measure and improve the reliability and integrity of DIB’s data and ensure that the data quality standards are achieved to support the bank's decision-making and risk tolerance is based on trusted data.
• Visualisation analytic and metric definition in the Data Quality and Data governance process. Formulate execution strategies and lead specific outcomes for Analytical, Regulatory and Governance purposes.
• Establish and mature a data quality framework that allows for replication and automation. Deliver data profiling and remediation strategies for the institution.
• Execute ongoing data profiling and data audits to understand trends and user behaviours that need to be controlled and improved across all data entry points.
• In collaborations with data stewards, develop and implement data issue management workflows that will detect, log, track and report data issues to relevant stakeholders and ensure resolution of such issues are completed within set service level agreements.
• Identify and document root causes that degrade the quality of data and work with business and IT teams to prevent recurrences of known issues.
Responsibilities (Managed 15 FTEs - 4 direct, 11 indirect) - matrix engineering team 15+ FTEs
• Responsible for the business intelligence value chain in Standard Bank’s wealth and insurance division from data acquisition, and curation to strategic, management and operational reporting. optimizing's strategic decisioning through data-led insights.
• Ensuring all Business Intelligence, Reporting and Data capabilities are effectively strategized, developed and managed for the group insurance business.
• Setting the data provision, management and consumption strategy for the business through sound data engineering, data mart design, data provisioning and curation
• Modelling new data sources into environments ready for cloud and hybrid-based provisioning solutions.
• Strategic, technical, operational regulatory BI and MIS for the Insurance business distribution channels, call-centre (internal & external) capabilities, product and finance area’s
• Coordinating data value initiatives through, AI insights and Data Science
• Verticals Managed - Data Engineering and Provision, Business Intelligence and MIS, Insights and Analytics. 1 Horizontal - Data Management. Matrix accountability from the Engineering feature team

• creating a curated insurance data mart for the wealth insurance business (on-prem and cloud) building profitability to a customer/policy level for the underwriter and brokerage businesses building a unified PowerBI visualisation portal for analytical and operational reporting assembling a professionalized data capability within the wealth insurance business delivered the first ai driven machine learning model to predict churn in insurance retentions space.

Executive Level - responsible for the strategy budget and entire execution value chain for data and analytics reporting to Chief Operating Officer
