My role was to recruit new members, which involved substantial contact with the senior
managers of local companies. The experience significantly enhanced my verbal and written
communication skills and developed knowledge of sales and marketing, as well as practical
understanding of business that enabled me to link the theory from my degree to its
implementation. My confidence in quickly initiating and developing networks of individuals at all levels of a diverse range of organisations was also enhanced, as I sought to negotiate
contracts with them.
