- Administer locally, and regionally, several US Government-funded, private-sector funded or foundation-funded scholarship exchange programs
- Ensure that the programs are well promoted
- Conduct pre-departure orientations and serve on scholarship selection committees.
- Invigorate the alumni engagement activities
- Organize local and regional activities and conferences for alumni
- Report on a timely basis the activities to the U.S. Embassy and AMIDEAST HQ
- Build and maintain a database of scholarship and exchange program alumni.
- Manage and update program budgets, review and analyse financial reports of the department, participate in annual planning and budgeting processes.
- Develop a comprehensive annual business plan
- Write and coordinate the development of proposals in response to RFPs
- Serve as the Acting Country Director in the absence of the Director
Drafting communication guidelines, newsletters, press releases, website content and other marketing tools to highlight positive achievements of the project in the region.
- Plan and implement public relation activities according to GIZ corporate design
- Support the update of the country brochure and projects/programme printing materials
- Maintain database on existing PR material and photographs
- Support coordination of update of GIZ Jordan internet homepage
- Create invitation/ Eid/ Christmas cards
- Maintain picture archive for brochures and other publications
- Send information and updated news to the GIZ intranet
- Manage GIZ internal, regional and international workshops, trainings and conferences
- Write English and Arabic press releases
- Write English and Arabic articles for the embassy’s newsletter
- Draft Ambassador's speeches
- Follow on Jordanian press and prepare a weekly report
- Act as an Arabic-English interpreter
- Produce posters, brochures and booklets
- Organise cultural events and seminars
- Manage the embassy’s scholarships and Exchange Programs
- Maintain the embassy's English, Arabic and Japanese homepages
Working as an Administrator/ assistant for The Institute of Communications Studies at the University of Leeds for a one day conference entitled Broadcast News and the Active Citizen http://ics.leeds.ac.uk/news-citizen/
- Write English and Arabic articles for the delegation’s newsletter and oversee the production of it
- Follow the Jordanian press and prepare press reviews
- Assist the Cultural Section in organizing events
- Translate documents, press releases, press clipping and statements issued by Delegation in Amman or Brussels from Arabic into English and vice versa
- Act as the Delegation’s interpreter
- Manage the information centre
- Prepare calendar of events for the Delegation’s annual report
- Update the IOM’s “Security and Safety Unit” website with information regarding the situation in Iraq
- Edit UN releases and publish information on the website
- Translate documents
JNEPI is a short-term project initiated by International Medical Corps, International Rescue Committee, Mercy Corps, Save the Children/US, and World Vision. It is designed to provide a range of services to the humanitarian agencies (International NGOs, local NGOs, UN agencies, government authorities and International Organizations) involved in emergency preparedness in the Middle East (Iraq).
- Act as the Director of The Communications Department when Communications officer is away
- Network with NGOs from all over the world by e-mail, phone and in person and informing the international community of the humanitarian situation in Iraq and Middle East
- Gather humanitarian information and news from internet, newspapers, television and other sources
- Manage and maintain the flow of information to/from the JNEPI office
- Write weekly situation reports on NGOs’ activities and daily humanitarian news on war in Iraq in English and sending these reports to targeted audience
- Write country fact sheets on all Middle East countries in English by phoning around or research to facilitate things on international organizations.
- Web publish all of the above and updating the website on daily basis
- Interact with web clients by signing new ones up, solving problems and posting messages of NGOs on website
- Build the JNEPI contact list
- Write Arabic and English articles, features, press releases and news for the media and Al Reem magazine
- Brainstorm, edit and write content for brochures, leaflets, booklets etc…
- Contact journalists and media agencies by Telephones, Faxes, e-mails and preparing meetings
- Conduct interviews inside and outside RSCN
- Work on RSCN website, revamp it, provide all content and update it
- Travel inside Jordan and visit all nature reserves supervised by RSCN to come up with ideas for features or cover an occasion there
- Work on news, business, life, entertainment and sports articles.
- Contact organizations and other institutions for events such as movies, exhibition, lectures, musical events, special films, etc…
- Cover workshops and press conferences held by organizations such as UNICEF
- Hourly posting of arabia.com news and up-to-date information services and agenda to mobile networks
