Underwriting Medical insurance.

Understanding and evaluating Client needs
to provide optimal insurance solutions
Liaising with Insurer to ensure smooth insurance process for the Client.
Involved in non-medical (general) insurance underwriting eg: Medical malpractice, PAR, CAR, EAR, TPL, WC and PI insurances

Responsibilities:
* Actuarial pricing of life insurance products that involves calculation of premium rates that
meet pre-identified profit criterion. Primarily, priced linked and non-linked individual
insurance products.
* End to end process of product pricing from concept ideation to approval of filed product
from Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).
* Drafting of responses to queries and ensure ultimate product approval from the regulator.
* Other ad-hoc activities pertaining to priced insurance products to aid system development.
* UAT of approved products and preparing Benefit Illustrations (BIs).
* Providing training and involved in on-boarding of new joinees/ interns.
* SPOC for internal and /external audit for Actuarial function.
* Provide actuarial manual calculations support to Prudential UK & Capita Operations.
* Designing & developing actuarial calculations based spreadsheets in line with product specs.
* Ensure that all manual calculations produced are accurate and within agreed SLAs.
* Use technical knowledge to analyze business requirements and provide solutions.
* People management responsibility for 2 team members - Setting of performance objectives,
holding regular 1-1 discussions to provide feedback/support in relation to deliverables.
* Task management & resource allocation of the team in absence of Manager.
* Assist recruitment and training of new team members.
* Stakeholder management and communications.
* Improve efficiency in processing requests through process improvements.
* Review all team documentation periodically and ensure it is up to date.
* Perform quality assurance checks by monitoring of internal work log & checklists.
* Awarded the Star of the Quarter award for Q3 2013 at a department level.
Financial Reporting team
* Key member of the team deputed to UK for training and migration of the process.
* Valuation on all regulatory measures Peak1, Peak II, EEV, ICA & Solvency II for the Unit
Linked Business.
* Perform data checks and alterations before the data is input into the MoSes model.
* Perform analysis of key numbers and provide explanations for any deviations.
* Producing required FSA forms for the Unit linked business.
* Providing support on MoSes model testing.
Actuarial Exams (8 papers): CT1-Financial Mathematics, CT2-Finance & Financial Reporting, CT3-Probability & Statistics, CT4-Models, CT5-General Insurance, Life & Health Contingencies, CT6-Statistical Modeling, CT7-Economics, CT9-Business Awareness Module, ST2-Life Insurance 60% is a notional number as only pass class declared.
