Job Summary:

To prepare, examine, calculate accounting records of the company and make sure of accuracy, completeness, conformance of financial reporting and maintain financial and Accounting procedures for Mouawad Mena DMCC, Mouawad Jewellery & Watches Retail Outlets.


Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ensure that all financial functions are properly administered and monitored.
• Ensure that appropriate financial regulations and controls are in place and in use at all times.
• Make monthly financial reports of Mouawad Mena DMCC and Retail Show rooms at various locations including boutiques at UAE, Qatar, Oman and Jordan.
• Preparation and ensuring the correctness of all accounting vouchers/journals before posting and periodic checking of Accounts Receivable/Payable/General Ledger.
• Preparation of Inter-company reconciliation, monthly bank reconciliations and Provisions, Accruals, Prepayment Allocations, Depreciation of Fixed Assets.
• Check Sales invoices and ensure the payment through cash, cheque, credit card payments, Bank credits are fully met.
• Ensure the correctness of Vendor invoices as per the Purchase Orders/agreement signed, terms of payment and schedule.
• Ensure the banking transactions are as per UAE Central Bank regulations and take care to get the best treasury dealing rates for foreign currency remittances.

Over the period of my role with EY, I was responsible for off-shore accounting and auditing for Middle East companies mostly for Dubai (U.A.E). During this period, I was also involved in financial statement preparation, Quality Review of Financial Statements and formatting of FS as per EY standards.

•Preparing and filing monthly and quarterly Kerala VAT Return for clients in different sectors including Textiles, Manufacturing and Construction Work.
•Conducting VAT Audit and Preparation and filing of Kerala VAT Audit Report.

•Keeping up-to-date with any changes or planned changes to accounting standards, tax provisions or other pronouncements and understand their impact upon the audit strategy.

•Provide on-the-job training /assistance to junior members of staff and delegate appropriate work to junior members of staff and review their work in a structured format.
