The Sultan Qaboos hospital in Salalah is the regional government hospital in
Dhofar region of Oman.
The pediatric department has 105 beds. This includes a 5‑bed Pediatric
Intensive Care Unit (PICU), and 9‑bed High Dependency Unit (HDU), besides
busy Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) with facilities to ventilate up to 12
babies.
I am working as a second on call doctor, in‑house 24 hours duty dealing with
pediatric emergencies and admissions.
I cover PICU, high and intermediate dependency areas dealing with all kinds
of pediatric problems, including resuscitation, intubation and mechanical
ventilation.
I cover Outpatient Pediatric Department (OPD), identifying illness in children
from birth through age 14 years, prescribing and explaining medications and
side effects to family members and caregivers, evaluating patient's response
to treatment through phone calls and follow up visits

Stabilizing in danger patients and in casualties.
Basic life support (BLS) and Advanced trauma life support (ATLS).
Preparing in danger patients for emergency operation.
Participating in surgical operation.
Providing medical care and (ICU).
Daily follow up of patients.
Other duties if required.
