• Promote good health, safety and environmental practices.
• Review the Health, Safety and Environment Policy Statements on an annual basis.
• Devise, develop and monitor effective Risk Management strategies.
• Making sure that all employees are properly informed about HSE Policies.
• Conduct internal HSE Audits to make sure compliance with regulations.
• Provide training for staff in relation to Health and Safety policies, practices and procedures.
• Monitoring, Evaluation and conducting internal and external audits.
• Ensure that statutory requirements are being upheld throughout the organization.
• Liaise as necessary with other organizations and relevant authorities, and provide assistance and cooperation concerning audits and remedial actions.
• Develop procedures to ensure that contractors, suppliers, consultants and other irregular visitors to the vicinity comply with relevant legislation and organization’s safety policies.
• Promote and coordinate the integration of environmental management and sustainability issues into policies, rules, services and operations.

Ensure that SCL Safety Procedures and Instructions are complied.
 Maintain fire-fighting appliances and life-saving equipment in accordance with the Planned Maintenance System and related certification in date. Recording or reporting same as directed.
 Co-ordinate and monitor the "Permit to Work" system.
 Conduct safety exercises, musters and drills.
 Organise, undertake and participate in safety meetings and safety lectures.
 Monitor compliance with the SCL system and report written non-conformances to the Project Manager for corrective action to be taken.
 Maintain accurate and organised records of all safety related equipment certification and ensure that items are inspected; surveyed, calibrated, tested.
 Investigate all incidents and accidents to initially make the area safe and then to determine cause.
 Administer and monitor a Code of Safe Handling of Hazardous substance and maintain product data sheets on file.
 Undertake statutory area safety inspections in accordance with regulations.

Develop safety programmes that provide safety and welfare of all crew personnel, organise and train all department members on proper safety procedures and risk analysis.
 Ensure that personnel in the operation are aware of the crew safety structure and that all persons are conversant with the practices and procedures for their job and that these practices are being implemented on a day to day basis.
 Ensure the safety and welfare of all camp personnel and other persons, whom may from time to time visit or work in the area and organise and conduct safety induction for all new members.
 Identify the need for and arrange safety training for all categories of staff in liaison with line supervisors so that all personnel understand all relevant emergency procedures and that all equipment is in place and operating to execute those procedures.
 Organise regular safety drills, briefs, pep talks, training, arrange the weekly crew committee meeting chaired by the Party Chief and document, and circulate the minutes.
 Ensure personnel are aware that the environment should be kept clean and tidy and in the event of an accident, an immediate and diligent investigation will be conducted, and a fully documented hazard identification and safety critical analysis completed to prevent any future reoccurrence.
 Organise the display and distribution of safety hints and slogans and monitor and advise on compliance with safety regulations and procedures to the Party Chief.
 Produce all reports and safety correspondence for the crew and provide feedback on all given information to the crew and client.
 Report all Unsafe Acts/Conditions and Near Misses and ensure the implementation of the programmed safety pep talks, safety meetings and safety audits for all departments.
