The GCC based Manlift Group is part of a major European rentals company specializing in the rental & sale of Powered Access Machines (MEWPS) & Temporary Power solutions

Manlift Middle East LLC was set up in 2006, dealing with the Aerial Work Platforms. Within 18 months of startup, became one of the Top 3 companies in the UAE market.

Manlift Power LLC was set up in 2007 dealing with Rental & Sales of generators, and Major international power projects up to 30MW. In 18 months, became one among the TOP 5 companies in UAE. Overseas projects Included Iraq, Pakistan and African countries.

Due to the success above, a new branch was opened in Abu Dhabi 2009, and in the same year new companies for both platforms and power businesses, were formed in Qatar.

Manlift India was set up in 2010 to capture the emerging Indian Market. In 2013 acquired a small Abu Dhabi based Oil & Gas services company.

Responsibilities:

Recruited by the CEO at the startup of the company in 2006 and was closely involved in all aspects of the Manlift’s growth, including the years of recession. Taking it from startup to a highly profitable group, with $75m pa revenue, a key part of a major European rental group.
During this period was promoted from Finance Manager, to Group Finance Manager (Manlift), and ultimately to Regional Finance Controller (Riwal Group), including Kazakhstan.

Financial Planning
• Budget and Forecasts
• Preparation of profit & loss, balance sheet and cash flow statements.
• Consolidation of budgets, actuals and financial reporting.
• Quarterly review of Budget and forecasts.
• Preparation of Variance analysis to Budget and Forecast, evaluation and suggesting for improvement.
• Business modeling and forecasting including future investments and ROI.
• Strategic planning, and formulating long-term business plans.
• Monitoring performance and efficiency.
• Developing complex finance models, KPI’s, MBR and 1PPs and Success Factors.
• Exercising budgetary controls, accounting, credit & physical controls.

Accounting
• Preparing and analyzing group consolidated statutory accounts as per International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Dutch GAAP, and Riwal GAAP and ensure reporting deadlines are met, organizing and coordinating internal and external audits, reviewing and implementing recommendations.
• Providing monthly Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss reports and MIS reports of 4 branches.
• Follow up on the Authority Matrix.
• Intercompany reconciliations.
• Statutory Audits.

Treasury/Banking
• Support company’s fund raising efforts through the provision of information for reporting purposes, considering all bank covenants under LMA agreements
• Cash flow management/forecasts.
• Working capital management.
• Receivables & payables management & controls.
• Letters of Credit

Information Technology
• Responsible for overall management (Including implementation) of the IT systems with relevant control process and procedures. Sage, Syrinx, LucaNet as well as Servers and Data Management.

Insurance
• Liaising with company’s insurers for necessary coverage for company assets, Premium negotiations, review of terms & conditions.

Major Projects:
• Working with CEO and major project sales team to evaluate the profitability, risks and cash flows through project modelling.
• Advising the CEO on Political and other risks associated with these capital intensive projects in high risk geographical areas.
• Exporting and re-import of the assets, including duty and tax considerations.
• Cash Management including payment terms and LCs.



Shareholder issues:

• Worked with CEO, JV partners and BDO Management consultants to prepare the Manlift Group for sale.
• Support CEO in his negotiations with various potential trade buyers.
• Provide share sales support to the minority shareholders regarding their exit strategies.

Other Areas
• Managed Corporate Payroll. Preparation and distribution of salaries under WPS. Calculation of Overtime, allowances, deduction, commissions etc. Also design and implementation of Rental and Sales commission schemes.
• Guiding, directing, training and motivating subordinates to work to their potential and perform effectively while promoting team spirit.
• Hands on experience on logistics, customs clearance practices and inward/outward shipping.
