• Develop and implement internal health and safety plan and communicate the requirements to members of the staff.
• Managing the implementation of the Safety Management System to deliver the policy and objectives and ensure they meet the requirements of customer, legislation and regulation.

• Preparation and implementation of HSE plans, policies and procedures.
• Monitoring the performance of Safety team on the project, mentoring them where areas of improvement are considered necessary.
• Carry out system and focus audits and recommend the necessary corrective actions and measures.
• Investigating and reporting all incidents as per our client’s and legislative requirements ensuring that root causes are identified, and remedial actions are closed out.
• Interface and liaise with client and local authority on issues bothering on Health and Safety and ensuring timely close out.
• Input HSE performance into weekly and monthly HSE reports.
• Control hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities through safety inspections, Loss Prevention Inspections, Focus Audits, and Safety Enforcement Notices.
• Supervise and administer health/safety and first aid activities directly related to on-site Health and Safety, including work assignments, personnel administration, staffing, training, etc.
• Report, investigate, and document all accidents, safety violations, and unsafe conditions/activities.
• Conduct work-area surveillance inspections, air sampling tests for confined space entry, property damage and personal injury investigations.
• Review project documentation to ensure all required records and reports are complete, accurate, and submitted to the Project Safety Engineer per established procedures.
• Ensure implementation of appropriate corrective action as required.
• Advising members of the Project team on application of the systems and procedures when requested or when observations suggest such is necessary.
• Maintain confidentiality in record keeping, investigating and reporting.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Resident Engineer and Senior Resident Engineer.
• Review of project HSE plans, method statement, HSE procedures and audit plan and advise on areas that needs improvement.
• Measuring and reporting of the SMS performance in accordance with the Safety Exposition and Procedures
• Collecting internal live safety data to enable continuous improvement.
• Manage contractors and overall HSE activities on site and ensure that issues highlighted during inspection and audit are closed in a timely manner.
• Report incidents of non-compliance to code and standards, and recommend corrective actions. Follow up to ensure implementation of corrective actions.
• Maintain and retain documented information in compliance with ISO 45001 (OHSMS) requirements.
• Monitor heavy lifting activities and ensure compliance with Lifting Operation and Lifting Equipment Regulation (LOLER).
• Assist the construction and project team in Risk Management process (i.e., HAZID, Risk Assessment, HIRA and HAZOP etc.)
• Carry out monthly inspection of firefighting equipment, updates the record and maintains all the firefighting equipment.
• Identify employees training needs and developments and advise on relevant training to be provided for different roles.
• Maintain constant awareness and accurate record of all safety issues.
• Conduct trainings, briefings and discussion regarding safety related issues.
• Conduct and coordinate emergency drills and prepare drill reports for the company.
• Take part in management or client walkthrough and address issues highlighted during surveillance inspection.
