• Teaching Arabic and Quran for non-Arabic speakers
• Training new teachers on the foundation curriculum and essential teaching skills.

The aim of this practice was to enable Master of Teaching students to proactively engage in
real-life educational settings to learn and enhance their professional development as
teachers. It has provided me as a Masters degree Student with an opportunity to explore a
range of learning activities that occur inside and outside the classrooms and the roles of the
teaching and non-teaching staff within the school.

This professional experience is meant to introduce the Masters degree students to the
philosophical, ethical, practical and pedagogical perspectives of becoming a teacher in diverse,
contemporary educational settings. This professional practice provided the opportunity to
explore the relationship between practical and theoretical knowledge of teaching.

I completed my work placement for the Diploma in Community Services in Chester Hill
Neighbourhood Centre which was with Child, Youth and Family services. I worked in the
Culturally and Linguistically Diverse students (CALD) help homework programme; by
supporting children in dealing with their homework and completing it successfully.

• Prepared and planned lessons by employing different teaching aids.
• Delivered successful English language classes as per the yearly plan and schedule.
• Conducted a variety of knowledge sharing workshops for school colleagues.
• Attended English department weekly meetings regularly to discuss and
contribute to the departments planned initiatives and activities.
• Attended parents meetings regularly when scheduled. I was always keen to
provide constructive and transparent feedback for both school management and
parents with relation to students performance.
• Planned and conducted various class and school activities to suit different levels
of students capabilities.

• Fully designed lesson plans for high school students.
• Conducted English language classes.
• Prepared exams for all intervals including end-of-year and marked them.
• Prepared annual plans that focused on improving students with different
achievement levels.
