temporary Events & Marketing Executive. IN charge of the day today runnings of events such as Dubai Fashion week and hosting VIP parties.
.Formed a partnership with two other individuals to launch and promote Club nights and concerts across Aberdeen and Edinburgh, including Mansion Mondays at Bad Apple and Mansion nights in Liquid Rooms in Edinburgh, We have brought top 40 acts to cities across Scotland to perform at Club nights.
Key responsiblities: in current job (partner in Mansion nights)
• Organising promotion including developing branding; producing flyers and posters; use of social media and web promotion.
• Recruitment of 60 students to promote and distribute flyers- including advertising and interviewing for roles.
• Seeking sponsorship for club nights- including arranging fixed prices on alcohol, décor for clubs and music genre in venues.
• Also actively negotiating with well known artists and their agents to perform in venues and on the specific club nights
• Launching promotional campaigns under Mansion nights in specific shops for example Harvey Nichols in Edinburgh, where the Mansion partnership launched their new student range in ‘Fresher’s week 2011.
Gained experience in promoting a product, being knowledgeable about a brand and selling it to a wide range of customers. Learnt to reach goals set by management.
Work experience with Marketing and PR company-Rainbow Communications- February 2010 to March 2010. Based in Glasgow. Valuable experience in PR role- Given responsibility for managing artists and dealing with the media in relation to the concerts, for example, the XFactor winners appearing at the SECC in Glasgow.
Promotion and sales- Mecca Bingo. Aberdeen. June 2009- December 2009 Signed up the highest number of people to Mecca bingo during the campaign, in which Aberdeen's Mecca Bingo launched their new membership scheme.
Door to door sales - Night and Day, Helensburgh- Summer 2009. Bin cleaner/ labourer and door to door salesman for bin cleaning service. Achieved double the average sales of other salesmen.
Whilst at university, i was First xv rugby captain. Also i gained a 2;1 from university. Other achievements: At university: • Founder and organiser of a very successful sevens rugby team (the Cherry Poppers) to play in a number of sevens rugby tournaments across Scotland and the rest of the United Kingdom 2010/2011 • First XV university rugby team • Won the title of Mister International Aberdeen- finalist for Mister International Great Britain in the Mister GB fitness modelling competition. • Finalist in the Men’s Health magazine fitness heroes competition • Current contract with a modelling agency -appeared in catalogues for sports companies and other clothing brands and campaigns with
